I was pleased with my stay at SHMC. I had one nurse that was fantastic She took time to teach me the physics of getting out of bed without pulling or needing help. She normally works with the back patients, but I got lucky that day.
I had excellent, caring nurses who were very available for me if I needed anything. They were well versed in my procedure and the aftercare required.
I had wonderful care at Sacred Heart. I work at a small community hospital in a nearby town and Sacred Heart impressed me very much. They have the latest technology, have a great staff. Everything was clean and meds were on time. I couldn't have asked for better.
I was comfortable and felt secure. The only problem was my roommate that had lots of noisy visitors that wouldn't leave and prevented me from getting any rest and quiet.
Overall I think they did a very good job. It was very noisy in the room I was in. I was right across from a janitor closet and people were in and out of that all the time. And the CELL PHONES!!!! People should really be more polite with those things. Leave them in your car, let people leave you a message you can return later and don't stand right outside somebody elses door (or in a room that is shared) and talk all day and night. One thing I loved is that when a baby is born, soft chimes are sounded in the hallways.
The staff was great and the drs wonderful and everyone treated me well. They were real helpful with everything I needed. I would go there again if I needed to be in the hospital. They have done several previous surgeries on me and my time there was great.
Sacred Heart has an excellent reputation for outstanding medical care. I had complete confidence in my Doctor. The nursing staff was like any other "customer" service staff. Many were wonderful and went out of their way to be helpful and others were just going through the motions. Would I chose SHMC again? Yes.
