Presbyterian Hospital Hospital
I was really impressed with the hospital. I felt very comfortable. My biggest complaint was that they allowed young children on the surgical recovery floor. I could hear kids running up and down the hallway and screaming and crying in the room next to me (and no, they were not patients). Not very restful environment for someone who just went through two major surgeries. It would be nice if they put a limit on how old a child can be before entering certain wings of the hospital.
THE NURSES WERE SO AWESOME. I REMEMBER I HAD FLO, THELMA, BRANDY, PAT. I JUST CAN'T THANK THEM ENOUGH. I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. THEY HELPED ME, THEY GAVE EXCELLENT BED SIDE MANNER. I WOULD FOR SURE RECOMMEND THIS HOSPITIAL TO ANYONE. DR DAVID VOELLINGER DID MY SURGERY AND HE IS THE BEST SURGEON!!!!!!!! ANYONE CONSIDERING GASTRIC BYPASS SURGERY PLEASE RECOMMEND HIM. YOU WILL FIND DR DAVID VOELLINGER AT CHARLOTTE SURGICAL IN CHARLOTTE N.C.
I work at a hospital and have for 17 years. Unfortunately didn't do this procedure there so had to go to Presby. Tried to advocate for my husband when he was having complications day in and day out. Was told by a nurse, "You know just enough about medicine to be dangerous". A couple nurses were absolutely beautiful there and were truly angels of mercy, but the rest could have cared less if we lived or died, which is in fact what happened to my husband. He died 68 days after his surgery.
The staff was excellent in trying to meet my needs day and night. This was the longest off-and-on stay (33 days from July 28 to Sept. 9) that I've ever experienced, and I felt that I was in very good hands with all but one (of a dozen or two) nurses. The dieticians tried to aid my eating situation in every way possible to them. The radiology department worked with me very well, taking special care during my periods of nausea. My surgeons and other doctors were concise, caring, and overall excellent in their treatment.
The staff was very accomodating and encouraging. The OR nurse called me the next day to check on me. My Dr.'s nurse personally came by to say hello. The patient care coordinator from my Dr.'s office called to check on me. The hospital staff couldn't have done anything to make it a more pleasant stay
