North Florida Regional Medical Center Hospital
I was on the 3rd floor and it was dirty. The floors were nasty, they were installing a new sprinkler system on that floor and one night, the plumbing went out and they sent maintenace into our rooms at 3 a.m. to fix it! Workers were in the hall installing the sprinkler system and watching as we took our walks in the hall. It was embarassing. There was obviously a shortage on nurses and they were not very compassionate. There was also a definate hiarchy (spelling?) among the RN's, LPN's, and Med Tech.'s. Don't ask the RN to help you to the bathroom. There was one great nurse, Evelyn. She was helpful and very nice. I didn't have a private room either (there was a shortage on beds, period!) so that was a nightmare. I felt sorry for the woman in my room, but it was obvious she preferred yelling for the nurse rather than using the call button. I mostly couldn't get over how dirty that 3rd floor felt. The rest of the hospital wasn't that way, so not sure what the problem was.
i hated it, i would ring the button for help and a half hour later they would call me back on the intercom. i was choking on flem and called and called and called and still no one would come so i picked up the phone and called the operator to the hospital and she rushed some people in there. to make it worse i was about 12 feet from the nurses station.... it was a horrible experience for me. and i dont reccomend them if at all possible. but i love my surgeon he was awesome.
