Norman Regional Hospital (COE) Hospital
I really liked Dr. Nelson when I met her. SHe explained things clearly. She told me her concerns about me personally in having surgery and wanted to make sure she had a letter from my cardiologist saying he was behind the surgery. When I asked her how many patients she had lost in this type of surgery she answered me without making any excuses. One. I appreciated her honesty. Her staff, and indeed all the staff I have dealt with at the OWLO clinic and also Norman Regional Hospital have been kind and caring. They answer phone calls and questions with great professionalism. I recommend them highly. I could have picked a surgeon/hospital closer to me,(Norman is 4 1/2 hours away), but I am glad I went with them. I would never change.

He is a very caring and informative surgeon who takes time to listen to questions and concerns, and his staff are caring and courteous as well. He tells you like it is concerning the surgery, and does not hold back. He likes his patients to be informed of all the risks prior to giving consent. I feel that I have made the right choice and rate him highly~
I have not had my appt. with the dr. yet but I have several friends that have had wls and was very pleased with Dr. Keith. I did some searching and asked alot of people and that is how I came to choose Dr. Keith for my surgeon.
My first impression is he appears to be caring. He wants to make sure you understand the life changes your about to go through. I've only met him at the initial visit, but that was enough. :) The office staff is wonderful. The dietitians are GREAT. :) rnrn
I am so impressed with Dr. Keith and his staff. His whole program is very comprehensive and he had top notch people working for him. I am also impressed by what I've seen at the hospital. I am traveling from another state to see him and the staff are very nice in trying to schedule the pre-op appointments so I will have the least number of trips to take. They really emphasize pre-op education and post-op follow-up. I was in the health care field for 30 years and believe me surgical competence is more important than bedside manner although Dr. Keith has a great bedside manner and I hear he is a great surgeon. My surgery is scheduled for Dec. 14 so I will let you know how it went.
I could not be more happy with the surgeon I chose. I went with him because I friend had used him. She lost 140 pounds and looks fantastic. Dr. Keith has the most wonderful, available people working with him. He truly has a program and not just a procedure. They offer support groups at the office. They offer a complete line of protein drinks in the office that are specific to bariatric patients and two nutritionists whose job is to find the best tasting and best for you meal replacements / supplements. From the very beginning, the risks are laid out in full. They do not want you to go into this surgery half heartedly. They definitely stress all the bad things that could go wrong and make sure you understand everything. Even at the hospital, the nurses, who don't work for him, had nothing but wonderful things to say about Dr. Keith.
I haven't actually met Dr. Keith yet, but I have done a lot of research on him. and I know that he is a very prestigious doctor and very well known among his colleagues.
