Morristown Memorial Hospital Hospital
I had a very positive experience here. Everyone was pleasant and competant. The only complaint I have is that they have discontinued their free post-op support group and have instituted an 8 week post-op program that patients have to pay for. I think that this is WRONG. I believe it is the responsibility of the hospital to offer the free support that was touted when I went to the pre-op seminars.
Everything was good at the hospital. The surgical residents were excellent and a large majority of the staff. There were some glitches of staff forgettign requests for medication/ help, etc. But overall it was a good experience. The days that I was in the hospital, there were a ton of people receiving sugical procedures.
My hospital stay was not the best. After waking up in the recovery room, I was screaming because of pain. After I was finally in my and needed to be moved to the bed from the stretcher, I encountered the meanested nurses, that I've ever seen. They were so insensitive to my pain and cries for pain. I thought that I was being burned at the stake. I actually had to remove a nurse's hand from my arm, because after going through so much pain, she was shaking me saying come on you we need to move you, try and move. Well the shaking generated so much pain, I said to her don't ever do that again. I really felt all alone until my Mom came to be my advocate, and BLASTED THEM ALL OUT , AND SCARED THE HECK OUT OF THEM ALL. You would think that they would have been more sensitive to someone that just came from surgery five minutes ago. My advise is to have an advocate for you that is not afraid to speak up for you. And document names. I did have 3 Nurses that treated my much better though, after I was moved to a private room. Carla , Kimberly and Steve. Charles the nursing assistant was the very best friend I had while I was newly recovering. Thank God for charles. I am so greatful to him. May God continue to bless him in compassion and care. God bless you Charlie.
