Buffalo General Medical Center Bariatrics at Kaleida Health Hospital
I have meet with Dr. Butsch. He and his office staff are Extremely nice and helpful. I have all my labs and x rays done at this point. I have completed the physc eval, and nutrition appts. My last meeting I was on March 3, 2004. He asked me some general question about my surgery and asked if I was exercising and practicing with suggested diet (Post) 6 meals a day. I advs him that I was. He infromed me that his office will contact me once IDPA has approve the surgery the time fram is est to be a month. We shall see? All will happen if it is God's will.
Dr. Butsch was very nice and he answered all of my questions with straight-forward answers which I appreciated. His assistant Renata, is a very nice woman and I think that I will be happy with them.
My surgeon is Dr. Posner at ECMC in
Buffalo, NY. From the beginning I thought he was very down to earth and easy to talk to. I was a little frustrated with the way they worked out the scheduling as it was different than any other dr's office I had ever been to. I mentioned this to Dr. Posner at my last office visit, and he assured me that once I have a scheduled date, he is always available. That made me feel much more comfortable. My surgery is scheduled for March 8, 2004 so I am counting down the days.
Dr. Posner seems to stress the fact that we will have to remain in contact with each other for a very long time. I like knowing that he isn't going to just cut me open and send me on my way.
So far...I would rate him as a 8 out of 10. I will let you know after surgery if my opinion changes any.
Dr. Posner did my lap band surgery and I must say I absolutely adore him. He cares, he is enthusiatic about helping his patients and is really building a fantastic practice to help obesity patients. He is a bit conservative on his fills but I understand that, he doesn't want to harm us lapbanders in anyway. Dr. Posner is a top notch professional surgeon and I would recommend him to any one seeking lap band or an RNY. Also, his assistant Rebecca is a wonderful person and I love her too!!
I was referred to Dr.Butsch by a good friend who was scheduled to have him perform an Open RNY for her.I was a little apprehensive because I had already had a bad experience with another surgeon. I had seen his web site and there was a picture of him on it. So, I knew that he was young and that was never a problem. In fact, his age was a plus, in my opinion. He was very "up front" with me about all of the risks and assured me that I could have the surgery Lap, since that was a concern of mine. His staff was very friendly and Renata, his assistant,is the best.
My first impression of hime was that he was very laid back but straight to the point. He was also young. But I think that's good..
His office staff is great especially Renata, and GiGi they have helped me alot.Future patients should know that he is very open minded, he listens to your every question, he seems like he really cares for his patients. He didn't really emphasize on after care a whole lot but we discuss it at every visit he wants me to make sure that I'm reasy for this life changing event. He was very straight forward and took the time to explain the risk of surgery he made it very clear of the risk of dieing and complications. He does have a very structured aftercare program especially with the nutritionists.Ona scale of 1 - 10 I would rate him a 9 1/2 with 10 being excellent.I think that surgical competence and bedside manner are both very important.
MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF HIM WAS A GOOD ONE HE IS VERY NICE AND STRAIGHTFOWARD HE REALLY KEPT ME INFORMED ABOUT THE SURGERY, HOSPITAL STAY AND WEIGHTLOSS PRIOR TO SURGERY. I AM A 28YEAR OLD MOM OF 2 LITTLE ONES {THAT I HAD TO BRING WITH ME ON THE FIRST TIME} AND I STARTED TO CRY ABOUT BEING OBESE AND RENATTA ASSURED ME THAT EVERYTHING WOULD BE OK SHE IS REALLY NICE AND ALL THE STAFF WAS COMFORTING. I WAS REFFERED TO HIM BY ANOTHER SURGEON AT RUSH AND DR BUTSCH IS AWESOME AND I RECOMMEND HIM TO ANYONE THAT LIVES IN CHICAGO. MY SURGERY DATE IS 9-25-03 YEAH!!!!!
Dr. Posner is amazing. The first time I meet him was December 2002. He took tons of time with me and my boyfriend and answered the zillion questions I had brought with me. His office was closing and that was the only reason the consult ended. He is very cautious with his patients - I was sent for several pre-op tests and we discovered I have sleep apnea and a hiatal hernia, both of which I had no idea I had and would not have know if it weren't for the test Dr. Posner ordered. He also has an extra-ordinary concern for his patients. While he was dealing with a re-imbursement issues with the hospital, he kept in touch with me via email. Every time I would write him, I would have a response within hours. And, when it came time to schedule surgery - he is the one who called me to set the date. I have never had a doctor treat me with such importance. I am sure I will receive the same level of care while I am at the hospital.
Just to update Dr. Posner has been very good through all this. I do keep in touch with him. I just had my Psy evaulation on the 18th, he got it on the 25. So now is the waite game with the insurance co.
I have ask for an out of plan to see this doctor talk to him on the phone very nice, he will be able to do my surgery in June if all goes well.
