Henry Ford Hospital (COE) Hospital
I don't get to choose my surgeon. My insurance co. tells me where I will have the surgery done. The hospital will then assign a surgeon to me. I do know that I will be going through Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit. I've heard that they are very plesant but strict. Everyone I've spoken to tells me Wanda is wonderful, and so are the Doctors.
I can't wait to meet them all.
I've found out that my surgeon will be Dr. Carlin. I have heard wonderfull things about him. I will meet him on august 10th. at 9:00am.
I met Dr. Carlin today. I was impressed. He's a very intelligent, down to earth kind of person. Dr Carlin is very easy to talk to. I can honestly say that I have never been so open with any Dr. before this. He made me feel very comfortable. He even asked me if he could examine me, before he did. Not the usual ok up on the table Kind of thing. I'm happy that he is my surgeon.:-) I am very confident with Dr. Carlin, and I did get to choose my surgeon after all. So far everyone at Henry Ford that I've met, or talked to on the phone have been wonderful. They treat people like people. What a GREAT place my insurance hooked me up with.
Dr Genaw is a very caring and compasionate man. I am totally happy with my care under him and his staff thus far. He likes to tease and joke a bit which is the kind of personalty that I can relate to completely.
he empjasises after care alot.. The baratric program that he and his partner Dr Carlin run at Henry Ford Hospital is a full program. He feels and his staff does as well that sucess is not in the surgery but in the proper use of this tool afterwards.
I met Dr.Carlin on his first day in surgery at HFH. I was an employee in the OR there.
He was very friendly and personable. 11 months later he was perfoming RNY on me. I went through the hfh bariatric center program and was very impressed by the thorough education given to patients. I was never nervous or in any doubt of being successful. I am proud to count Dr. Carlin as my friend as well as a very talented surgeon. I have seen him in the OR several times a week since my surgery and he always inquires about my health. He always has time for my questions or concerns, even "off the clock". I would recommend this program to anyone interested in WLS. Dr Carlin is a wonderful man and Surgeon.
A very pleasant mild mannered man. He is very compassionate and understanding with his patients, and tries to help you the best way he can. Dr. Carlin makes sure he explains everything thorughly about the surgery, and what to do before and after. He was totally amazing. His staff doesn't fall short of complements either. They were very professional and kind.
