California Pacific Medical Center (COE) Hospital
California Pacific Medical Center ROCKS! That was easily the best hospital experience I've ever had; great nurses (every single one), fast help, excellent pain/nausea control, a private room, a fabulous view of the city complete with the GG Bridge...and this morning, POPSICLES!! Seriously, I can't speak highly enough about this hospital. A+
I am sorry that I am not able to give my experience at CPMC a good rating. I have heard so many wonderful comments about the care on the Bariatric unit. I was, unfortunately, sent to the Telemetry unit after surgery and my experience there was not good. On my readmission for complications, I was sent to the Transplant unit. While the nursing care was better, I was forced to spend my time in a chair in the hallway sue to the insane rambling and demands of my roommate.
Hopefully your experience at CPMC will be as good as I have heard it can be. What I can say on a positive note is that the Bariatric Coordinator did contact me after my discharge and followed up on all of my concerns.
I had a non-WLS room mate who was loud, disoriented and very needy. Whenever a nurse came into the room to care for me, the room mate NEEDED him/her first - and I felt very neglected. I got myself up the first time, ambulated on my own schedule since I rarely saw a nurse, notified the nurses of my infiltrated IV after my alarms kept going off for hours, discontinued my own IV when the nurses could not get to it.. However, the surgery staff were great, the preop staff were wonderful, the anesthesiologist was great and the surgeon - Dr. Cirangle - fabulous.
This is a safe, clean and excellent hospital. I would not hesitate to ahve any surgery or procedure there.
Excellent, knowledable, caring, dedicated staff. Clean, safe, and welcoming.
