Dr. Shikora is AMAZING. He is thorough and very nice. He made me feel so comfortable about my RNY bypass.

Although I was initially nervous, after meeting with him, I knew this was not only the best thing that could happen to me, but that he was the ONLY person who I wanted to do this procedure.

He's an amazingly talented man and I feel honored that he performed my surgery. My scars are so small hardly noticeable at all. Besides, I had no major pain and didn't even need to use any of the percocets post surgery.

Thank you Dr. Shikora for giving me a fresh start. I'm already down 38lbs just 5 weeks out of surgery. My hypertension is GONE, my GERD is GONE, Sleep Apnea is just about gone, and the type 2 Diabetes is GONE.

I have already recommended him to other friends and family members who are now eager to have him do their surgery.

I had a great experience with Dr. shikora. He can be a little intimidating initially, but after a few minutes of talking with him, I realized that he is just very precise and professional. I trusted him completely and felt very comfortable talking with him about my concerns. I would rate him and his staff a 10.

Very Proffesionall All the way through the process. The best staff in New England. He is considered a world renowned surgeon and anybody who gets him is extremely fortunate. If you are being banded Dr will not do it unless you are commited to aftercare. They have the best program I have heard about on this board. Dr Shikora is propably the top surgeon in this part of the country.. My MD told me if he neede laproscopic surgery and he was in europe he would fly to Boston and have Dr Shikora do the surgery. He is simply the best!!!!!!

Dr. Vernon,

I liked Dr. Vernon at first sight:O) She is very kind and very professional.
Her office staff is excellent and she works out of both B&W and the Faulker Hospital which makes scheduling appts. easier.
I really have not had any problems or concerns so my aftercare has been pretty limited.
I would rate her overall performace as a 10. She was very informative, covered all options and I felt great confidence in her as a surgeon. She was a great choice for me.
I think both her surgical competence and her bedside manner was great.

I first met DR Robinson in April 05, he was intimitading but defenitely knew his stuff. Very profrssional. He told me I was a perfect candidate for surgery. He asked me to lose 20 lbs., and quit smoking. His staff was really great, jennifer his secretary is excellent. She has set up all the needed appontments for me.
On my second appointment with him I felt a little more relaxed after all the research I did on DR Robinson, I know he is the right surgeon.
I would highly recommend him.

The best thing about B&W was the family lounge. It was beautiful, clean quiet and comfortable, with books, magazines, televisions, games, free coffee and snacks, and even internet access. Ny family waited at the hospital during my surgery, and it was great that they had a nice comfortable place to wait. They were very impressed.

He is a great surgeon and really takes time to explain things... When you are having any trouble just call and he always gets back to you and assures you of the situation. If you need to be seen he will see you.... Overall I have had a great doctor and could have asked for better......

I would rate Dr. Scott Shikora a Perfect 10...............

The nurses were very pleasant, but overworked. Intravenus Alarms would ring forever.... Only the squeeky wheel got any oil.

Ok, I have to admitt that I was a little afraid of him at first. He wasn't a hand holder, and being 20 years old, I was looking for that on my first appointment. Then, he canceled my surgery 3 times because of cbc and ptt counts. I was so mad, but finally after sending me to a hemotologist, he agreed to do my surgery. Looking back, I am the luckiest person to have gotten a surgeon as competent and skillful as him. There is no one better to do the surgery in my mind. And, the third time he canceled my surgery I was in the pre-op room crying, and he did his best to comfort me, and rearranged his schedual to fit me in for the next week and at time when he doesnt do surgeries. He has been an angel for me. He is the most thorough, professional, knowledgable Dr. I have ever been to. I can't say enough good things about him. He should get some kind of award! I felt sooo safe having him do my surgery I wasnt even nervous the day of. Dr. Robinson, I love u! :):):):) Someday I hope to be a Dr. Just like him

I first met Dr."H" in May of this year (1999). He reminded me of those two guys that I enjoyed so much in "Grumpy Old Men". hahaha! I liked the fact that he was older and considered to be an EXPERT in this field. He has a dry sense of humor(but, believe me, it IS there-he's very funny), and is very matter of fact.

I had prepared some questions before going, but after the video and my consultation, ALL the questions had been answered! I felt real foolish when he asked if I had any questions, and all I could do was smile and say "no".

His office staff is incredible! Vicki and Tammi are always soooo nice and helpful, even when they are extremely busy, which is the majority of the time. They go out of their way to not let you feel like you're "bothering" them.

He was recommended to me by a good friend of mine who is almost a year post-op, and she looks and feels GREAT! He is her doctor.

If surgical competence is what you're looking for vs. a Letterman, Murphy, or Carey type personality, in my opinion, Dr.Harberg is your man.
