Brigham and Women's Center for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Hospital
Dr Spector and the entire Brigham and Womens Bariatric team are amazing. I felt respected and supported throughout the entire process. Dr Spector answered my endless questions. I felt very comfortable with him. He has a great rapport with his patients. He is honest and has clear expectations for his patients, but yet you leave feeling supported. He removed my Lap Band and converted me to a sleeve. I do not have any complaints. It has been a year since I started the process and 8 mo since my surgery. My weight loss has been good but even better is how good I feel.
Thank you Dr Spector and the entire team!!!
I started my journey in the beginning of July when I went to the Foxboro, Mass. site for an information session about having Bariatric surgery, and Dr. Spector was the speaker! He impressed me so much! He was so informative and you could tell he loved what he was doing! Well I signed up that nite for powl classes, and I am so happy I did! Throughout the whole process Dr.Spector has taking excellent care of me! I decided if I was going to commit to this, then I better do exactly what he tells me to do! I lost 40 lbs before surgery and my surgery went great! I feel great and am have lost another 21 lbs since my surgery on Dec.15, 2015, an total of 61 lbs down! I too was afraid to do this, but Dr. Spector and his team are so Great and if you are afraid to do this don't be! I wish I had done this years ago! Its a lot of work but its all worth it! I can't say enough about Dr.Spector and his team, they are wonderful!!
Dr. Davidson is a great therapist. He had helped me through some challenging times before and after my surgery. he will listen to you at great length to help achieve your goal
DR Scott Shikora is a great surgeon him and staff will work with you through the years ahead to help you lose weight he has a great personality
What can I say about Dr. Davidson. First off he is a huge inspiration to me. If it wasn't for him I don't know where I would be today. He has helped me with exercising inside and outside of my home and he has always pushed me to be a better person. I love meeting with him because I become even more motivated every time. He is hilarious and such an amazing psychologist. I'd definitely recommenced people to see him.
I have been a patient of Dr. Malcolm Robinson since 2013. Dr. Robinson is an absolutely amazing surgeon. In 2013 I got the lap band and in 2015 I got the band revision to the sleeve. I definitely trust Dr. Robinson and his team. I would recommend him to anyone who are interested in bariatric surgery.
Love Dr. Davidson I wish that he could be my regular therapist. He had helped me through some challenging times before and after my surgery.
Dr. Shikora what can I say about him. WELL he is the man his whole team are great!! Dr. Shikora helped me save my life I was approaching 400lbs and in a size 26 pants. I was not happy I had tried all the diets in the world, with out his help I could be dead right now. I had weighed 345 when I went into surgery a year later I went down to 187 and a size 12/14 that was the best that I think I looked since I was a child. My husband and I had tried to get pregnant for years and it just wouldn't happen after losing the weight a miracle happened I found out that I was expecting. We now have a healthy and happy little boy born 8/31/15. Since I have had the surgery 4 of my friends have also had it and have their own wonderful stories to share. SO with that being said 5 stars for Dr. Shilora and his team. :*
Dr. Malcom Robinson was my extremely skilled surgeon, but he is only part of an excellent team approach. Unlimited visits with dietitians , good follow-up with your surgeon and his/her PA, monthly open forums on various topics of interest to bariatric patients, and most of all good psychiatric follow-up and ongoing care through optional group therapy sessions facilitated by Dr. Paul Davidson and access to private sessions with him. Also a very supportive private Facebook group that is monitored by staff.
I pondered having the surgery for several years, and then it was the right time. Dr. Robinson listened to me very closely when we discussed any concerns when I first met with him, and he gave great thought into advising me on which procedure would be best for me. I have no regrets doing it while being old enough to carry a Medicare card!! The team is very aware of the challenges different people face with other health issues or living circumstances, and age differences.
I would give the overall experience 5 stars if not for the amount of noise on the floors that carry into your room at the Brigham location. The floor/room layout is not conducive for quiet rest without closing your door. The Faulkner location has all private rooms.
