Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital (COE) Hospital
My nurses were excellent. Even those that appeared to be introverts - let my extrovert personality kinda draw a smile and little bit of conversation. I did have a favoriate nurse - Melissa G ... she was very easy to talk to and comforting even though she was constantly being called to go back and forth between me and other patients. She handled it well.
5 am I was suppose to be there in admitting, but they didn’t open till 5:30am even tho the sign said 6am. Not very stress reliving when your having surgery.
Nurses: AMY and KATIE were awesome nurses in Cardio Pulmonary. One of the night nurses didn’t know how to properly draw blood.(Ouch) so she had someone else do it. The last nurse I didn’t have for very long so I couldn’t say.. Very noisy I was right by the sundry facilities. I had to keep asking for the door to be shut so I could sleep and the IV machine kept beeping. Check out was pretty easy!
This is a great hospital. I have no complaints with the hospital. The person answering the call bell leaves something to be desired as there were several times my nurse "claims" she didnt get my messages. I rang once and 2 hrs later, my "night" shift nurse came in. Shifts had changed before the nurse finally came in to check on me. My IV had infiltrated and I rang at 7:10pm to tell them. At 9:15pm, the night nurse came in to do rounds. I was in pain and my arm was swollen! I had finally cut off the IV myself. We also waited an hour to be discharged once the doctor left my room and another hour for a wheelchair to come up. My husband finally had to go up to desk SEVERAL times and get a little stern with them. We had a 3 hr drive home!
Other than these things, my stay went very well. My first 2 nurses were awesome and I couldnt have asked for better!
