Bon Secours St. Mary's Hospital (COE) Hospital
My only negative experience has been with the support groups, which were initially quite good. The surgeons began requiring all pre-op patients to attend a support group, but did not limit them to the pre-op/early surgery groups. Our maint/relapse group has been taken over by pre-ops with questions and our issues are no longer being addressed. All maint patients who were regularly attending have now quit coming because the group is no longer relevant. This has been very problematic for me because I have experienced a weight gain and could have used the help.
Bon Secours St. Marys Hospital staff were all excellent from registration to checkout. These Nurses were so good to me. Any and Everything I needed, they didn't hesitate to bring to me. They also encouraged me to walk and get out of bed. They were so helpful and I can't begin to explain how awesome Dr. Brengman is to his patients. For some reason, I just knew he'd be the right doctor for me. (That was God!!) I'm thankful for the care I received, it made staying away from my boys better to handle....lol
St Mary's hospital is totally there to make their pt's feel as comfortable as possible. The hospital was VERY clean, my room was good size, ALL the nurse's/ancilllary staff/dietary/housekeeping/volunteers/receptionists/admitting were true professionals and never left me "lost" in the big hospital. My calls for pain meds were answered and responded quickly. I came home feeling that they had taken great care of me. I use to work at another hospital in Richmond for 16 years. St Mary's has them beat hands down.
I feel I recieved what was advertised. As a Center of Excellence hospital, I felt I recieved the best possible care. The staff of nurses there are well educated and easily connected with the patient. They all are very experienced and have been at St. Mary's for some time. You could tell that they all throughly enjoyed their work. This was my besy possible choice and I am glad I was under their care.
