Barix Clinics - Michigan Hospital
Dr Poplawski to me was a very good surgeon.
He explained every detail of the surgery.
His office staff is pretty nice.
And the time spent at the hospital I was very well cared for and the nursing staff was great. (North Ottawa in Grand Haven, MI)
The Dietician has already called me serveral times to check on my progess my surgery was on 1/19/03
The Bariatric Treatment Center staff were wonderful! They really did treat me like they cared about me. They were there 100% for me at all times. They constantly asked about my comfort, whether or not I was in pain, if I needed anything, etc... When it was time to get out of bed the first time they were right there helping me all the way until I was able to walk by myself, even then they constantly monitored me. I always felt safe with them. The thing that really made me feel good was when I left the hospital. Judy, one of the nurses who cared for me, escorted me to my car, helped me into the car, and stood there and waved until we drove out of the parking lot. No hospital has ever done that for me, and because I my past health, I have been in several of them. They are very professional and truly caring. One thing that really impresses me is how well organized they are. They delt with Blue Cross for me and helped me expidite my surgery date. They really have it together there. I think the world of the Bariatric Treatment Center. I will recommend them to anyone who feels the need to have bariatric surgery. I hope this gives you some idea what I think about BTC.
Dan
He is a very skillful surgeon with over 1,000 gastric bypass surgeries performed. I would recommend him to anyone. He is a little flakey at times, he assumes there is a disorder that made you overweight ie: sexual abuse, eating disorder, obbessive compulsive disorder, and in my case it was a combination of genetics (a large part), eating fastfood like normal people, and snacking at night with jumk food. Besides that he is generally a good doctor and is more than willing to answer any questions.
Loved him dearly and he saved my life and the life of my sister. We had him while he was still in Ypsilanti, MI, and we wish he still was!! Our father loved him too because he was Polish like us!!! LOL We miss him dearly and we miss our little "Kielbasa" joke on where to find the BEST Kielbasa in Michigan!!!!! Love you Dr Pop!!!!!
