Everything was great, however, I did experience complications after the surgery (reaction to meds) that they were not equipped to handle (I was sent to another hospital). This seems odd to me that they would have NEVER seen this type of reaction before since they've been doing this surgery in this hospital for over 10 years.

Personal Opinion: rnFrom the first consult, does not mince words and constantly reminds the patient that surgery is a TOOL and to focus on the deeper issues leading to obesity. Tended to downplay risks. Direct, matter of fact. Is a surgeon at Barix Clinic, Ypsilanti and works with patients on follow-up for a year or more at the same facility. Surgical comptetence is likely better than bedside manner.

I would recommend it to anyone.

Dr POP was a great optimistic surgeon. He was very positive when I first met him. He broke everything down initially and he told it like it WAS from the beginning including the risks. The staff at Barix in Ypsilanti, Mi was very attentive (always in your face actually). I had a good experience from consultation to checking out of the hospital - everyone smiles there from the Lab tech, to the surgeon. I would highly recommend this clinic and Dr.

I was very impressed with Dr. Poplawski the first time I met him. He was very knowledgable about the surgery and was able to relay his knowledge to the group. He didn't try to sugar coat anything. That was a good thing. He was very detailed in the risks and the benefits in the types of surgeries that his facility performs. He was able to answer question with ease and in a direct manner. I felt very comfortable with him after our first meeting and knew he was the person I wanted to perform my surgery. Once I decided that was the route that I wanted to take , his office has been nothing less than spectacular. They were always available and called me with updates throughout the whole process. They called to see if I needed any assistance with obtaining my paperwork from various doctors so that they could submit my claim for approval. When I sent them in something that was not quite right they took the time to not only call but to send a notice in the mail telling me what I needed to do to correct it to insure insurance approval. Overall I can say this has been a positive experience for me with this clinic.

This guy is amazing. He was very professional and he tells you exactly what is going to happen and what is expected of you with no sugar coating. He genuinely cares about his patients and wants them to do well. Even though he is nice, he is not one who will \"hold your hand or baby you\". He simply states the facts and expectations and asnwers your questions, but he is NOT insenitive...it is just his personality.rn His office staff is wonderful. They are very sensitive to your condition and very helpful. They are some of the nicest and helpful people I have come in contact with.rn The aftercare program is very structured and efficient. You know exactly what to expect. Dr. Poplawski throughly explained all the risks and benefits of the different surgeries and asnwered all my questions completely.rn I think this guy is amazing and is the only surgeon I want to do my surgery!

The entire staff was very caring and dedicated to seeing you through until discharge. I felt extremely at ease knowing how knowledgeable everyone was and the fact is that is all they do every day is WLS & reconstructive surgeries.

My first impression was being so shocked at his young age. But he knowledge of the surgery and it's risks but me at ease immediately. I love the surgeons at CORI and Harper Hospital, however the customer service staff at CORI leaves a little to be desired. They were terrible at returning phonecalls and answering questions. Dr.Taylor is a very skilled surgeon. My incisions look amazing. He was very nice and responsive to all my questions. He seems a little shy when it comes to beside manner, but all of us have different personalities. My surgery was uneventful and the Dr. Taylor met with my family right afterwards to update them on my progress. I am pleased that I made the right decision to have him perform my surgery.
