Barix Clinics - Michigan Hospital

When I first met Dr. POP, I was kinda intimidated. But after awhile, I knew he was the ONE! He was very honest, blunt about the whole life changing event! He knew what he was doing, and what he was talking about. He used to be a liver transplant surgeon, and that is the hardest most difficult organ to transplant! So I knew I was in great hands! I met some of his patients, and I felt more and more comfortable. Of course I was scared. The day of my surgery, he made everyone who was working on me, nurses, staff, everyone, come and say hello, and try to ease my worries! I'm gald I went with Barix, and Dr. POP! I was somewhat scared of this surgery and they treated me very respectful and made me feel safe and well looked after!

Definately an older hospital. Very clean. My room was by the nurses station--a bad place to be. Night shift respiratory therapist smelled of alcohol. Had to ask for regularly scheduled meds. Staff very nice and easy to talk to.

My surgeon Dr. Poplawski is absolutely wonderful. He is a great surgeon and very straightforward and honest. I like that he isrnvery thorough and cautious. I appreciated that he requested extra tests done pre op to ensure I was a good candidate for surgery. I like the aftercare that the Barix clinic offers and like that Dr. Pop and the clinic make surernyou understand all aspects and risks involved. I would recommend both Dr. Pop and the clinic to everyone.

I like the sugeon but did not like his assistant Amy Blaze at the Cori Center. She was mean and rude and because of the fact I went over her head and contacted the surgeon directly..now all of a sudden i'm not a candidate for Cori. Suddenly she said i failed the psych Eval. Its a shame because I found another bariatric doctor who knows him well and is surprised about his response to my problem. Don't use the Cori Center. They are misleading. Do you believe you have to answer a 500 question pychological exam in the waiting room right under the T.V. THEY WERE GIVING CNN! I could'nt concentrate. But it was very easy for them to take the$54.00 charge and my medicare informaton. Incredible!!! Dr. Taylor your a great person I'm still going to have this surgery and I'm hoping its done by you. I would recommend this hosptial to anyone thinking about having bariatric surgery.

Dr. Pop is an excellent surg. He is all about you achieving your goal. He's alway smiling and friendly. I was able to ask him question pre and post op and he made sure that I understood what he was going to do. I recommend him to anyone thinking about having surgery.

My husband and I were more than satisfied with Barix. I'm glad I went with their program.

My first impression of my surgeon Dr. Taylor who will be assisted by Dr. Michaael Woods, was OH my GOD, he is really good looking, then I thought how is he...Dr. Taylor is only 33 years young and he is a surgeon. Well anyway after my cunsultation with him I felt very pleased with his proffessionlism while also keeping real and his laid back attitude. He answered all questions that I had and answered them all, which i did not have to many because he was very thorough with everything upfront. The office staff was & is very friendly. Dr. Taylor emphasizes aftercare very much, which is a wonderful thing. He addressed the risk of surgery very thoroughly. I would rate him overall so far 2 tumbs up...Surgical competence & Bedside manner are both something that I would look for in a Doctor...and so far Dr. Taylor does have Surgical Competence...stay tuned on bedside manners.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was given a private room and the nurses and aides were quick to respond to any bell I pushed and fulfilled the request quickly.
