Atlanta Medical Center (COE) Hospital
The only problem I did have is the fact that I was on the side with the helicopter pad and the noise it makes coming in and out is horrible. It would wake me up everytime. Also, I felt that my privacy was a little invaded by an ex-ray tech that knows a friend of mine. No one but family knows about my surgery but I feel that she will tell my friend she didn't behave ver professionally at all.
All the bariatric patients are in the same wing, so the nursing staff is very good about dealing with patient needs. The floor is exceptionally quiet as compared to most hospitals, however my room was right next to the helicopter landing pad and it was active non-stop on my second night (I was awakened several times.) One note: the food arrives with no instructions on how to eat it. Also, my grits came with butter which I found out later I was not supposed to have. By the second day, I was coherent enough to remember eating instructions (no food and water at the same time, also dilute fruit juice) and I did much better. Also, recommended snacks are not served so I held on to my tray and ate what I could until it was taken away before the next meal.
The only negative thing I can say is that ONE LONELY TECH was such a negative and worthless person that she nearly single handedly ruined my image of the hospital just because they allow that behavior. To AMC's defense, the floor nurse did speak to her (but it was outside of our room and the Tech called us liars, so that wasn't very fruitful) Anyway... overall everyone on that floor was a gem of a person and really seemed to care.
