I had a problem with the transporter taking me for my leak test in a wheelchair with a flat tire. It was a very painful experience and they weren't very responsive. However when I returned and notified the RN she reported it to the nurse manager who seemed to take care of the problem appropriately.

I had an above-average experience with this hospital. The nursing staff was excellent, the rooms were clean and so were the bathrooms. Each of the bariatric patients get their own private rooms. The bed was very uncomfortable and difficult to get in and out and there was no volume control on my remote control but other than that, I was quite pleased. I would definitely recommend to someone else.

The staff at AMC were excellent. They took really good care of me and were there when I asked for anything. All of the nurses and PAs greeted me when their shift began so that I would know their names. To those of you who turned your nose up or asked why I chose this hospital, now you know. Nothing happens in God's world by mistake.

Overall an excellent experience, from the beginning to the end. The only negatives are the general neighborhood around the hospital and the trauma helicopter making a lot of noise sveeral times in the middle of the night.

I had an incision that was bleeding and needed external suturing. The on-call surgeon was tide up in an emergency case and did not show up until 11 pm to suture my incision closed. There was some difficulty finding the correct supplies needed and it took a while before the procedure was ready to be performed. It was actually a resident who sutured me while the attending surgeon was on the phone answering a page. I don't believe I received the greatest of coordinated efforts or attention to patient concerns. I will also have a huge scar from the sutures as one pulled through my skin and the other came untied after a week (it should have been in for 2 weeks).

Overall the hospital was excellent. I only had one thing that I was unhappy about and that was resolved quickly. I would recommend Atlanta Medical Center to anyone who is wanting to have this procedure done.

My stay at Atlanta Medical Center was wonderful. The 11-7 shift dropped the ball a few times, but nothing serious (for me). I understand that another girl (Christi, whom I met on this site) had to wait 3 hours for something really important. This is not acceptable. However, the day shift and afternoon shift made up for it and I feel I was treated very well. Everyone was kind and accomodating.

The paticular day that I was there one of the elevators had stopped working. So, it took a while to get up and down the building. Sh@t happens-- I have no complaints.

The hospital has a floor dedicated to bariatric patients. All of their equipment on this floor is geared toward the morbidly obese patients including hospital beds and wheelchairs. The nurses were very caring and responsive to all of my needs. For anyone having surgery, I would definately recommend this hospital.
