Everyone at Mexicali Bariatrics is wonderful!!! My mother got the Lap-Band with Dr. Aceves in 2007. She's lost over 150lbs now. Which is rare success with the lap-band. My mother has brought 5 or 6 of her friends to Mexicali Bariatrics and I've watched all of them have wonderful success, some with the band but I think most were with the sleeve.
In 2013 I decided to go with the Lap-Band as well... 6 months later I realized it was not working for me. I wanted to go back to Dr. Aceves and get the revision to a gastric sleeve. Unfortunately Dr. Aceves passed away and my heart was truly broken.
I was surprised and encouraged by the folks in Mexicali, they kept their clinic running and success rates were still sky high. I knew I would be safe and taken care of here.
Dr. Wilhelmy met my expectation of absolute excellence. They take a few extra steps to make sure 1. The surgery will be successful and 2. No leakage!!!
I'm almost 1 month post-op and I'm over 30lbs lost.

Although I had a tough time with the surgery (band removal, gall bladder removal, and gastric sleeve) They were very attentive to my pain and I never felt like I was waiting for pain meds. The doctors seem like they live in the hospital.. or at least two blocks away, because they were there around the clock.

I was so confident in the people at Mexicali Bariatric that I was talking to my fellow patients in the van ride from San Diego to Mexicali. I told them my story and my mother's story and ensured them that they made the right decision and everything was going to be alright. I can understand the fear of going to mexico for surgery. I had the same fear in 2007 when my mother told me she was going. I worked in hospitals (ekg tech and CNA) for 5 years. and Almater Hospitals is one of the cleanest hospitals I have ever seen. I guess I was just a bit too enthusiastic about everything because these lovely ladies in the van thought I was some kind of seed planted by MBC.

So the day after surgery I asked her again... do you still think I'm a seed? and we laughed a lot because she realized everything I said was true. The facilities are amazing, the people are wonderful.

I can go on and on about how great Dr. Wilhelmy, Dr. Campos, Dr. Beltran and the team, Carla and Yolanda are.

Excellent surgeon. Had absolutely no problems with my gastric sleeve surgery in Mexicali. I got Dr. Wilhelmy's name from a friend that also underwent gastric sleeve surgery. She spoke highly of him and I have to agree with her. Had my surgery end November and have lost 32 lbs so far. The only problem that I encountered was acid reflux but then again I have permanent scarring from acid reflux caused by stress many years ago. It is now mid January and the acid reflux has decreased somewhat and I feel wonderful.

I LOVE Dr. WilHelmy ,Dr Campos, Dr. Beltran and everyone there! I went to have my sleeve redone by Dr. Wilhelmy and was so impressed with everything. I saw my sleeve before surgery and saw my sleeve after surgery. Such a big difference! I feel this huge relief that I now have this great sleeve that will help me lose my extra weight. Everyone at the hospital was wonderful I had such great care and everyone was so nice and helpful. I recommend this group to anyone wanting to get a sleeve that actually works ! These doctors know what they are doing and will give you the best sleeve to work with.

I am happy to recommend the good doctor and all his medical personnel. I had gastric sleeve surgery and Dr Wilhelmy met all my expectations and exceeded them. The hospital, the nurses, everything was better than expected. Compassion and skills what more can one desire from a surgical experience? 5 stars!!

This is a great experience as far as I am concerned. Dr. WILHELMY IS A TRUE PROFESSIONAL. I had a lap band revision to sleeve done on the 12 of November. I am a 73 year old female and I have healed great. I am 10 days out and feeling fine. Everyone heals at a different rate. I had a few issues with the lap band but am very comfortable with the sleeve. As soon as I can regain some more strength I will be hard to keep down. I lost my husband 31 days ago and am doing this in his honor as we were going to Mexico to have this done when he became extremely ill. Bless all the Dr s and nurses along with Yolanda, Nina and many others. I love them all ! Dr. CAMPOS is a champ.

5 months and 50 lbs lighter! I had a wonderful experience with Dr Wilhelmy and my sleeve surgery , this has been one of the best decisions I have made in my life. I cannot say enough about everyone at Mexicali Bariatrics. I spend 3 nights at the hospital and drove back the following morning actually sad to be leaving these great individuals.

Dr. Wilhelmy is a kind and compassionate surgeon. Dr. Campos, Beltran, Dr. Lomeli, Carla , Nina and Yolanda, thank you for the attention I received. I swear seems like you never go home! My 4 days at Almater hospital were more like a mini vacation, very little discomfort and lots of resting LOL. The hospital is spotless and the care was superb, I sincerely appreciate all you did for me and my wife. I am just over my liquid diet and about to move on, I have lost 11 lbs since surgery and feel great! I miss the hospital broth, we could not manage to duplicate it even with the recipe you gave me.

I had a revision from band to sleeve done 3 years ago. It did not work for long. I called Mexicali Bariatric Center, sent images and I scheduled my ReSleeve for the following month. I had complete faith Dr. Wilhemy and the doctors in Mexicali. Communication was smooth and I felt confident they had the experience to help me with my 3rd weight loss surgery. I was not disappointed! I have lost 40 lbs in 6 weeks and have finally felt what my original sleeve should have felt like. I want to thank Dr. Wilhelmy and all the team at MBC for giving me this real effective sleeve to work with. With God's help I plan on being at goal weight this time next year!

I love everyone at Mexicali Bariatric Center! Recommend them to all who will listen! I drove from Las Vegas to Mexicali to have my sleeve done by this excellent surgeon and was met with the entire team of doctors, nurses and coordinators that treated me like a human being. I was scared and nervous and second guessing my decision. They put my mind at ease and took very good care of me during my 5 day stay. My nephew had just had his sleeve with Dr Wilhelmy and I followed! He will write his review too. Dr Wilhelmy gave me a 2nd chance at weight loss. I had a sleeve done in 2012 and had already regained 40 of the 50 lbs I had lost originally. Mexicali Bariatric Center is known for doing the best revisions so I contacted them and am happy that Dr Wilhelmy took me in as his patient. The restriction I feel now with my sleeve is nothing like what I felt the first time around. Seeing the difference in my sleeve before and the sleeve after surgery I know I will do well and can only thank the team at MBC for giving me this 2nd chance. I wish I had been there the first time I had surgery.
The experience from the time Ernesto the driver picked me up to the time he took me back was outstanding. Almater hospital is comparable to any US hospital, really clean and even better then some of the ones i have been at!
