    Dr. Rodolfo Wilhelmy, Bariatric Surgeon Rodolfo Wilhelmy, MD, FACS is the lead surgeon at Mexicali Bariatric Center in Mexicali, Mexico specializing in advanced laparoscopic and minimally invasive surgery. As a board-certified surgeon, has been performing bariatric surgery for over 18 years and general surgery for 30 years. He dedicates 90% of his expertise to bariatrics and has performed over 3,000 weight loss surgery procedures and 6,000 laparoscopic procedures. In addition to performing surgery, Dr. Wilhelmy has trained many surgeons in advanced laparoscopic techniques and has been at the forefront of bariatric surgery in Mexico and beyond. Dr. Wilhelmy is an American College of Surgeons Fellow (FACS) and a member of the Mexican College of Surgeons. Previously Dr. Wilhelmy served as the President of the Mexican College of Surgeons and was a professor at Mexicali Medical School for 12 years. He was honored to serve as Head of the Minimal Invasive Surgery team at Instituto Mexicano del Seguro Social for eight years and Director of Surgery at IMSS for two years. He has been a Member of the Almater Hospital surgical staff since 1987.
