Seun Sowemimo Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS, FASMBS

I am a patient of Dr. Sowemimo's. On 12-19-12 I had Roux-en-Y Gastric Bypas. This is a surgery that I was considering for 3+ years and it wasn't until one of my closest friends had it done earlier this year did I know I was 100% ready. She told me about Dr. S and what a wonderful bedside manner he had and how thorough and professional he was. I accompanied my friend to Dr. S.'s office for her post-op visit and I knew immediately that I had found my surgeon. He was warm and friendly, gentle and comforting. He took time to answer questions and was generally concerned with how my friend was feeling post-op. I scheduled my consultation with Dr. S. and was happily on my way to a better, healthier life. I am an overweight 45 year old female with diabetes and I decided that I just couldn't live this way anymore. I attended 6 months of nutritional counseling with Julie and she was incredibly informative and supportive. She prepared me for my post-op life and how I would have to make changes for my success. The office staff at Prime was tops. Seriously, they were so helpful and always went above and beyond to answer my questions, look for information that I needed, etc. Dr. Sowemimo was incredibly honest about the risks of surgery and he didn't hold back. He didn't sugarcoat anything, but at the same time he made me feel confident that I could do this. I would highly recommend Dr. Sowemimo to anyone that is looking to have weight loss surgery.

He overall was a great surgeon. During the 3 month process of doctors' visits with insurance, I was helped with all the questions and concerns that I had. The staff in the office made me feel welcome and that this is what I needed to do for myself. Dr. Sowemimo never made me feel umfortable or doubtful, but instead was always positive and comforting. I am so greatful that I went through with this surgery with Dr. Sowemimo because this is a new start in my life the way I want it to be, under control. I am so greatful. I would reccommend him and his staff to everyone in need!

Dr. Seun has been terrific. He has been supportive and honest through the whole procedure. It's been ten day since the surgery and Ive lost 20 lbs. I'm really looking foward to hitting my goal weight of 200lbs. The staff that Dr. Seun has is unsurpassed by none they are polite and very efficient. I would suggest anyone whois looking to get this procedure done come to Centrastate and see Dr. Seun.

I am currently 3 months post op gastric by-pass surgery and things are going great. I have lost aprroximately 40% of my excess weight so far. Dr Seun is a warm, approachable,and professional physician. He was clear about the surgery options and outcomes of each. I see Dr Seun at each support meeting which shows that he really cares about his patients success post op. His approach toward weight loss is very balanced. He explains bariatric surgery is a tool but diet and exercise must be an essential part for the best outcome. My experience with his entire office has been pleasant and would reccomend Dr Sowemimo if someone is considering bariatric surgery.

thought about this surgery for quite a while, finally deceided to
go ahead after i met dr seun. i knew he was the right surgeon for
me after meeting with a few others. I also saw dr seun on tv 12

10, 2012. He has always spend time answering all my questions,
and helping me through this I"m doing fine feel good and to your
surprise im 61 yrs old and starting a new chapter in my life.

I JUST HAD A RECENT VISIT WITH DR.SEUN ON 12/15/2012 AND IT WENT WELL. HE IS A TRUE GENTLEMAN AND HE IS GREAT AT WHAT HE DOES. I HAVE HAD MY GASTRIC PROCEDURE ON 8/29/2012 AND I AM DOING WELL. I CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS THAT HE HAS TOLD ME TO DO AND MY LIFE HAS CHANGED FOR THE BETTER. AS OF NOW I'M DOWN 76 LBS AND HAVE BEEN OFF INSULIN SINCE SEPTEMBER 6TH.

I met Dr. Sowemimo a few months ago and was instantly impressed with his "down to earth nature" and his ability to answer all questions without any hesitiation in easy to understand terminology. He explained all of my options and walked me thru the process involved with each. He never once looked at his watch! I instantly felt comfortable and at ease working with him.
I just had my surgery on 12/5/12 and am getting back to my old self. I had my first follow up with him this morning and have already lost 10 pounds! He was pleased with my progress and reassured me that I made the right decision, not only to have the surgery, but to have chosen him as my surgeon. The entire staff is awesome!!!

The doctor and his staff work hard for you, answer all your questions. They dont rush you in and out they make you feel very relaxed. When you call with a question they get right back to you. When I first came here I weighed 454 one year later I now weighed 268. I am off all my meds. They set me up with a workout program. And all the test you have before the surgery payed off for me when a mass was found in my collen and Dr. Sowemimo took fast action and removed it and I am cancer free. If you're thinking of having laparoscopic or bariatric surgery this is the Doctor you want to see, no question they're the best.

My journey began in July when I walked into Central Jersey Bariatric's. Dr. Seun was informative and professional.He went over each of the surgeries available and we chose one suited for me. He took the time to answer all my questions. He did it in a way where he didn't try to hurry up the answer. He always made sure everything was answered before leaving the room.
The staff was wonderful especially when they dealt with my insurance company on my behalf. I just think Dr. Seun and his entire staff is great. They will go the extra mile for you.
Julie, the dietician, helped me plan my diet, vitamins, and proteins. She was very helpful. Between Dr. Seun and Julie they really drove it home on the aftercare. When you do your homework you will see why it's that important.
I just thank God for Central Jersey Bariatric's. I'm so happy I did this. Thank you
