My surgeon is great, but strict on what he expects and wants from me. His staff has always been friendly to me. He really stresses after care and before care. If you gain weight he will call off surgery even if on surgery day. He makes sure that you are aware of all risks several times during post op visits. I would rate him a 12 on a scale of 1-10. His surgical competence is great, his bedside manner is good as well. All the Nurses at the hospital had nothing but great things to say about him, that to me meant a lot to me

Impressed with Dr Bauman's presentation of his knowledge as well as his respect for people. My impression continues to be same as at first. His office staff go out of their way to help. I wish he could smile more. Patients to eventually see him need to know don't go if you are not at least 102% commited because he will see right thru you. The aftercare is almost as important at the surgery itself. He addressed surgical risks in has seminar, individually, and then on the EMMI video. Overall I feel he is 100%!!! Surgical competence is by far the most exceptional quality.

Dr. Bauman is brilliant. He takes care of you until you are a 100% healthy. I had issues of not getting enough protein in and he had the NG tubes put in so I could get my protein. He has followed me through and still is. He had met me after hours to have test done. He has great bed side manners. He shows much concerned and is a 150% professional. He needs to add a little humor, but again he sticks to being professional and he takes WLS surgery serious and no joking manner. My husband is very impressed on how he has taken care of me.

I went in for my consultation on sept 14th. Dr B was to the point. he didn't get upset that by the time i had gotten into his office i had changed my mind about which procedure i wanted. he just let me know what i needed to do to make it happen. his office staff were all nice. the only problem (which i'm actually not complaining about) was that i had to wait a LONG time before i saw Dr B because he had a patient before me apparently asking ALOT of questions :) that did not bother me tho because i wasn't in a hurry and it made me feel good to know he'll spend as much time with me as necessary.

Dr. Bauman is a very nice, yet stern man. He gets to the point and doesn't waste any time. His staff is good and will help you in any way needed. You never feel like you are bugging them when you have a question. Overall I am completely satisfied with Dr. Bauman and his staff.

He is a very straight forward, no nonsense man. He is very adamant about aftercare and holds Support Groups monthly. rnrnA tape was watched regarding the surgery, the possible risks, the needed steps to insure your success in keeping your weight off.

I became a patient of Dr. Bauman's one week ago. I had my LapBand surgery done in Mexico. After 5 weeks I developed a problem with the port incision. When I called his office and asked if he would see me the response was YES. Never did Dr. Bauman ask me why I went to Mexico, didnt look at me with that look of disbelief (as the other doctors in ER did) never once did I feel like he wasnt concerned for my well-being. He saw a patient that needed his expertise and help and was there to give it. Dr. Bauman is truly a caring, physician. I have worked in the operating room for 30 years, this type of physician is far and few to come by. I am glad I did. During my discharge visit with him at the hospital, I said, I am truly grateful to him for taking me as his patient, he simply said, \"I am glad I could help\". There is nothing more to say. Thank you, Pat Catania

I had WLS with Dr. Bauman exactly two years ago today and it was the beginning of a new life for me. In the first year I lost150 pounds (from 315 to 165). The second year I lost an additional 5 pounds and feel that I could fairly easily lose about 10 more if I decided to because maintaining my weight loss has been easy. I wear a size 8-10 in slacks. I have never had any complications. I recommend Dr. Bauman as a surgeon and WLS as a viable option to control weight and improve health. I waterskiied this summer after an absence of 30 years! I got up on the first try both times. I am able to hike, dance, skate, ski, etc. comfortably without getting out of breath or having foot, knee, hip, or back pain. I feel reborn. I do wish I could afford plastic surgery because my skin shows the effects of years of obesity, but it's a small price to pay for feeling healthy and being able to live a normal life. I thank God every day for Dr. Bauman and this surgery. Dr. Bauman's staff was wonderful, especially the nutritionist. He has a structured program, but I never made any of the support group meetings. He strongly emphasizes exercise, group meetings, and follow-up. I moved to another area a few months after the surgery, so I wasn't able to do all the follow-up, but he and his practice did such a good job educating me, that I have done fine. In a sugeon, competence is what matters most, and I believe I had a superb surgeon.
