Dr. Blackstone was awesome and now that she has brought on Dr. Gunsburger it is even better. I was impressed with not only the Doctors but with the staff. I have had a wonderful experience with them and tell eveyone that I meet about how great they are. I am two months post op and would do it all over again...with them.

Dr Blackstone is great! Although it can be hard to actually speak to her since she is flying solo. Her staff is great, especially those that worked on the bariatric ward at the hospital.

I love Dr. Blackstone. She is such an amazing woman who cares so much about her patients. No one can beat the set up she and Scottsdale HealthCare Shea have for their patients!!!

My first impression of Dr. Blackstone was that she was very professional, she cared about you, and that she seemed very knowledgeable. I went to her seminar and was impressed by how many people were there. I also enjoyed her speech and that of a prior patient of hers. She had staff there to take your paperwork, etc. My first appointment was informative and my pre surgical plan was set up for tests and appointments. I passed everything but never got to see Dr Blackstone for a personal consultation. When I was told by a staff member staff member that my insurance would not cover the surgery, it was like I was totally on my own. I was told I could either pay cash or do an appeal on my own. I was devastated. I knew that appeals were done all the time but there was absolutely no support from Dr Blackstone's staff. I even emailed and called a couple of times to ask for help on how to write an appeal letter but I never got any responses back. And then to top it off, I got a letter from Dr. Blackstone's office stating that they no longer accept my insurance. I had paid about $500 in fees and did all my tests and got them all my paperwork for them to tell me they could not and would not help me. I felt like they led me on to believe that surgery was possible for me and that their center was very patient focused. rnrnI still like her program but her staff was not supportive of me at all and the fact that her practice accepted my fees and paperwork when renegotiations were in process with my insurance company, to me is a poor reflection of her business practices. This is my personal impression of her.

Originally I was to wait 9 months to have my procedure (after being bumped from May 3), but now I have been rescheduled for June. The support staff is excellent, and the entire office staff worked very hard to resolve our mutual issues... They run a very professional clinic, a center of excellence indeed!!!rnrnMy surgery was text book, and everything thus far has been just as they said it would be. Dr. Blackstone and Staff are the Best of the Best... Then I am a little partial!

Robin Blackstone is awesome!!! Excellent bedside manner. She is very upfront and honest and at the same time compassionate and understanding. I had my procedure on 6/21 and feel lucky I found her!

Ultimately I am very happy with my choice of surgeon. My first impression of Dr. Blackstone was that I didn't really care for her and I had heard that her bedside manner was very abrupt. However I knew from doing a lot of research beforehand that she was/is an excellent surgeon. And that was all that mattered to me. She is very interested and invested in her patients succeeding and doing well. One thing that i did not like was that immediately after my surgery, i had a lot of complications with strictures and had to be readmitted a few weeks after my original surgery to get it fixed and had it happen 4 more times after that.....at the onset of my complications I felt as if Dr. blackstone thought i was exaggerating my symptoms and pooh poohing the possibility that something was really wrong.........however after doing an endoscopy and seeing that yes i did have a major problem, the situation changed.

I was amazed at the level of individual attention Dr. Blackstone gave me in the hospital after my surgery. The surgery was not completed until late in the evening due to my \"turn\" being last on a day of very \"big\" surgeries. She still stopped by my room after the surgery at about 9:30 pm to make sure I was okay. She is extremely thorough in all she does and sets the standard very high for her patients care!

Robin is VERY down to earth. She is very frank with her expectations of you and pushes you to make efforts in your own recovery. She is compationate, patient, and well spoken. She was there to greet me before and after surgery, and made sure to have someone available 24/7 for any questions. She is truly a class act!

She is a dynamic speaker. Her work for obesity is phenominal. I believe and trust in her. She gives all of her statistics in her seminars on Sundays, risks, whats expected pre- and post op, types of surgeries etc.
