Dr. Blackstone has, with no exageration, given me a new birth. I'm now on my way to being the person on the outside that I've always been on the inside. Thank You, Dr Blackstone! Melissa and Randy are GREAT too!rnI would recommend her and her team to anyone! My experience was not without road blocks and hurdles but what thing worth having doesn't!
After several Seminars at different clinics and interviewing friends who had surgery I chose Dr. Blackstone at Scottsdale Bariatric. From the very first, she was professional, kind and understanding. Her staff have been very helpful. Dr, Blackstone is probably the best trained professional in the western United States. Her succssess rate is high and she operates from the only Center of Excellence in AZ. The after care program is extensive. I give her, the staff, clinic and the hospital an EXCELLENT rating! Surgical competence and bedside manner were the best. I totally trusted her competence.
First impression -- very competent and confident -- didn't change over time. Office staff went through nearly a 100% change -- my impression is Blackstone may be a difficult doctor to work for. Like least -- slightly impatient. Future patients should know she's an excellent doctor, but expects patients to meet her halfway to reach long-term goals. Aftercare is well emphasized and structured. My surgery was extremely low risk, so nothing to address. Overall, would rate her well and recommend her to anyone. Surgical competenance much better than bedside manner (I never saw her postop -- saw the nurse practitioner instead).
Dr. Blackstone is amazing. Along with her terrific staff, she has developed a foolproof pre-op and post-op program designed for success. She is extremely down to earth and easy to talk to. She carries an air of confidence that made me feel I was in good hands. Her bedside manner is unparalleled and her dedication to what she does is undeniable. I couldn't have asked for a better experience!
My first impression of Dr Blackstone was of being impressed with her knowledge. My impression never changed about her. I am in awe of her. She is so caring, if I didn't know any better I would have said she is that way because she had surgery too and she knows what its like to be fat.rn Her office staff is very professional. They have always been extremely nice to me. A couple of her staff members even went out of their way to help me out. I felt like I was among family. I can't really say that there is anything I don't like about her or her office. rn The one thing I can tell future patients of hers is that she is such a busy lady. If you value this surgery, and know how important it is to see her, try to not cancel your appointments on a short notice.rn Her aftercare is just as great as her pre-surgery visits. She wants to keep us healthy forever. She makes sure we continue all our follow-ups. She addressed the risks of the surgery very calmly but very matter of fact. She made sure we all understood the pros and the cons.rn Overall, I would have to say I rate her a 10 out 10. If I did it all over again, I would still go to her and only her. rnI think to be as good a doctor as she is, one needs both competence, and bedside manner. If anyone has that, its Dr. Robin Blackstone.rnrn
Dr. Blackstone has been totally professional with all my dealings with her. She takes every precaution with you as a patient. Her office staff is very professional and upbeat. They always have time to answer you questions and concerns. Aftercare is stressed in several diferent ways: office visit, classes and support groups run by her staff. I have been totaly impressed by every aspect of her practice. Dr. Blackstone went over several times about the risks involved up to and including death. My overall rating of Dr. Blacktone is excellent. Her surgical competence & bedside manner are both absolutely wonderful.
I first met Dr. Blackstone right after my husband's lap-band surgery in November. I was so surprised to meet this very upbeat, down to earth, much admired woman who just happend to be our surgeon. My admiration for her only increased over time. I saw first hand what a careful, not willing to take risks, with her patients, doctor she is. Her office is well run, they are in the process of bringing on some other surgeon's at the moment. This will take some of the pressure off Dr. Blackstone, I don't know how she keeps up She is extremely high energy and you can tell she takes living a healthy life style seriously. She goes to a gym before she goes into surgery to make sure she's in top form. What dedication. Her aftercare program is one of the best, it is very structured, her office staff is almost on the same level of dedication as she is. I would have to say if you went into the surgery not very well informed, it would be your fault. Eerything is clearly laid out for you to consider. A nice binder is given to each patient at one of the pre-op classes for you to refer to along your journey. I always knew I was in excellent hands as far as a surgeon, she just also happened to have an excellent bedside manner as well. If she's not the best in the country, she's awfully close to the top in both my husbnd's and my opinion.
