Saw Dr. Stahl on the 24th of Sept. and was very impressed. He was totally honest with me.....that goes a long ways with me....am having surgery on the 29th of October. I recommend him and I haven't even when into surgery yet....he is just the type that you know that he knows his stuff. That and he has had nothing but praise from his patients.
Sept. 10, 2001
I met with Dr. Stahl for the first time today. He was very courteous and informative. I feel comfortable that he will continue to be upfront and honest about my health, risks, procedeures, etc. He supplied with me a packet of info ahead of the appointment time, so I was prepared with my questions for him. The info I sent to him helped him to be better prepared for my evaluation/consultation. We didn't have to start off completely in the dark about each other.
So far the office staff seems very nice and helpful. I will know more based on future dealings and visits with them.
I really feel that Dr. Stahl did a wonderful job, I got sick one and couldn't seem to get over it and talked to Diane the nurse, she had a prescription for Phenergan suppositories and that did the trick! The only thing that I didn't feel was covered was that the after care was a little on the figure it out for your self, but I have talked to many people on different things to eat and try and I think that i am doing well, I now weigh 201.5LB> and tomorrow will be threee weeks. The key is exercise and getting the liquids in and protein!I would definitely use this surgeon again, It was the most pain free surgery that I have ever had, I was only sore and that counts for a lot with me.
At first, I felt a little nervous. He made my very comfortable. My first visit was short and sweet, and surgery was scheduled. Who could want more?
The day of surgery, I didn't even see Dr. Stahl. Once the procedure was over, he came out and spent a good deal of time with my husband explaining the procedure to him, which was much appreciated. The day after surgery was Dr. Stahl's off day, which he had discussed with my husband. Not to worry though, his physician assistant, and Dr. Christopher, one of his partners, both paid me a visit. I never once felt neglected. When I saw Dr. Stahl on the second post-op day, he dismissed me. So, I guess I can sum it up by saying, we have brief encounters! Which are GREAT with me. I feel like I can ask anyone of his partners/assistants/
nurses/secretaries anything I want to, because I have. Susy in his office is so sweet and informative. I had read some negative remarks about his office staff, but never once have I had a negative encounter with any of them. I am especially pleased to fell like I belone to each of the 3 surgeons. I learned, that not only Dr. Stahl, is doing mostly lap procedures, but the other two surgeons are doing laps as well. I would recommend any one of these guys. They know what they are doing, and the hospital staff works hard to satisfy their requirements and to make the paiteint comfortabe. I did have a complaint about all the noise in the hospital! But...they had new construction going on above my room! All in all, it wasn't an unfavorable experience.
My initial appointment with Dr. Stahl was on May 16, 2000. My first impression of Dr. Stahl is that he looked very young. My main focus was to ask several questions and base my opinion upon his knowledge and ability to communicate effectively; whereby, treating patients with respect. Dr. Stahl was able to answer all of my questions (which consisted of about (3) pages with poise and honesty. At the end of my consultation, I felt very comfortable with Dr. Stahl and felt that he did an excellent job of answering my questions related to the surgery. My husband was also impressed with his knowledge and honesty. Although my consultation was informative, there was no mention of an aftercare program. He did however, mention that I would have to come to the office several times for a check up. I would rate Dr. Stahl a 9 based on a scale of 10. My only concern is that a support group should be implemented to aid patients in preparing for surgery and then dealing with the changes after surgery. Dr. Stahl's nurse was very sweet and pleasant; however, I was not initially impressed with some members of the staff. I hope in the coming months my opinion will change.
I liked Dr. Stahl; he had been recommended to me by another of his patients. The office staff is nice and courteous, but Diane, his nurse, is especially nice and has empathy for her patients.
He explained all the risks to me and my husband during my first visit. It was kind of scary, but staying the way I was is even scarier.
There is not a lot of emphasis put on aftercare. I did not even get a "going home" sheet when I left the hospital!?! But I got one on my one week checkup visit.
I would rate Dr. Stahl as a very skilled surgeon. His bedside manner could use some work, but still I'd rather have the skill in a minute!
I went to see Dr Stahl today. He and his office staff were just super nice to me. He took time and answered all of my questions about the surgery and aftercare very thoroughly. He seemed to really care about his patients. His office staff just really made me feel at ease and also tried very hard to answer my questions regarding my insurance. I would definately refer anyone I knew that was thinking of having the weight loss surgery to him. So far, I have just gone for this one visit and I had a very pleasant office visit. These were just my personal experiences.
I really like him... No hurry or brushing me aside. sit down and had a good talk and answered all questions.
