I liked him.
He seemed competent.
Office staff was supportive and friendly.
Before any kind of surgery, check out his track record first.
He has no structured after care program that I know of
He did address the risks of surgery - he said only 1% don't make it.
competent
I think it would be better to have BOTH surgical competetence AND bedside manner.
I just had my first office visit with Dr. Stahl 11/16/99. The women in the front office weren't that friendly, but the nurse was nice. Dr. Stahl was very nice and answered all my questions. I had a good feeling about him when I left. I really want to talk with any of you who have had the surgery already. What was your impression of Dr. Stahl AFTER the surgery?
My first visit with Dr. Stahl was last Wednesday (October 20, 1999) and I was very impressed. My mom had severe reservations about my having this surgery, but by the time we left, she was crying and holding her hands up praising God for leading us to this surgeon. He was very patient and described everything in detail before asking if we had any questions. I had done my homework and had plenty of questions (about 4 pages)and Dr. Stahl answered them all. It took me about 45 minutes to go over all of my questions, and he never even batted an eye. He was very kind and very confident. His office staff did not impress me much, but it was only my first visit. His nurse, however was very sweet. I would say that Dr. Stahl is about an 8 on a scale of 1 - 10. I couldn't be happier that I found him so close to home (about 70 miles).
