I spoke with Nancy at Dr Malik's office today & have set a consultation date!!!! 12/11/03 10am is when I will start my new journey!!
I dropped Dr Malik when I learned he had only assisted in surgeries!!!
I am now with Dr Paul Enochs!!! There are no words for how compassionate he is...and his staff..one word...WOW!!!! Tara worked harder for me then anyone in my life has. You would have thought this was their "Dream come true".
He was very upfront about the surgery & it's risk & benefits.
I had my first visit with Dr. Enochs on February 5, 2004. I was very impressed with his straight-forward manner. He addressed all of my concerns and I left his office knowing that my decision to have the surgery was the right one. I also knew that I had found the right doctor. I was very pleased with the way he takes time to sit down with you and makes sure you know all of the risks involved. I have to admit that I was very afraid of having another operation of any kind, no matter how minor. I know this is major surgery, but I now feel confident that my fears were the results of listening to folks who like myself were afraid. I see so many people who have had the surgery and they're so beautiful and so happy. I want that too and I know I can have it with the help of Dr. Enochs. This surgery is the answer to my prayer and Dr. Enoch is just the angel doing the work. I have been fat all of my life and finally the Lord has sent an answer to my prayer!!!!!!!!!!THANK YOU FATHER!!!!!!!!!!!!
My first impression was that he is very knowledged on obesity, then after speaking more about the surgery he is also a very gifted and qualified surgeon. He is a compationate physician who seems to truly care for his patients. I feel blessed to have met him and look forward to having him perform my bariatric surgery. Anyone who chooses to make a consultation with him will not be disappointed.
My first appt with him is Jan.8. I am looking forward to meeting him after hearing so may good things about his mannerisms and geniune care he has for his patients!!!
My first impression of Dr. Enochs was that he is very laid back yet kknowlegable about this field. He has a geniune concern for his patients and stresses aftercare during his consult. The staff is very nice and Tara answered all questions regarding the insurance process and really put me at ease to some extent. What future patients need to know about this doctor is that he is caring. He takes his time to answer all questions and will even make you laugh if he senses you are uneasy. He is very easy to talk to and basically if you are unsure of whether you can be disiplined enough to follow through with the aftercare, you need to go home and make up your mind. He stresses the importance of disicipline, excercise, hydration
He tells you in detail the risks of the operation, and then tells you the risks of you not doing anything to help yourself, and I must admit, the risks from the operation sound small versus the high rate of death from obesity complications.
I thought that Dr. Enochs was the absolute best Doctor that I have ever met.He Took time to talk and get to know me as a person instead of looking down on me because I am overweight. He anwsered all of my questions. He took the time to explain the surgery in detail. He is just not a Doctor, He is a Friend. Tara is a God send. She is so sweet.
I just had my first visit and consultation with Dr. Brader and his staff at Carolina Bariatrics. I was very pleased with their explanation of the process. Dr. Brader is very personable and very capable. He does one-on-one interviews with potential patients because he feels this is a very personal decision and doesn't feel a classroom/seminar situation is the best for a physician/patient relationship. He has quite an extension background in general surgery, along with laproscopic surgery. His program is a total program, with ongoing consultations with exercise physiologists, trainers, pyschologists, nutrionists, etc. The program coordinator in his office is a surgical P.A., and was very helpful in discussing the insurance approval process and will handle most of the insurance approval process herself. Having attended a couple of physician sponsored seminars where I felt the physician boasted too much about their capabilities, I feel I have found a physician in Dr. Brader who is quite capable, knowledgeable and who doesn't have an ego the size of Australia. UPDATE 8/02/2003 - United Healthcare of NC denied me three times for surgery. Therefore, I am going to Ensenada, Mexico and having surgery with Dr. Aguirre on November 21, 2003. 10/28/2003 - Yet another change of plans. My company is changing insurance as of 12/1 and this insurance will cover the surgery, so I'm "postponing" Mexico (actually swapping dates with someone else) and trying to get approved for here - Dr. Brader, I'M BACKKKKKKKKK!!! Well, WakeMed put a moratorium on all gastric bypass surgeries and that is the only hospital where Dr. Brader does his surgeries. So I switched to Dr. Enochs and I now have a surgery date of 1/12.
Dr. Enochs is very in tune to the needs of his bariatric patients. He is thorough and consice with his information. I was very impressed with the time he took on our initial consult.
Dr. Enochs is a skilled and competent surgeon, who not only cares about his patients, but their famililes as well. He is compassionate, thorough, humble and a very fine human being.
Anyone in the Triangle area desiring bariatric surgery would not go wrong with Dr. Enochs. He's a gem, and a blessing.
I had my first visit with Dr. Enoch's on Wednesday December 10,2003. I have to admit I had heard good and bad stories but and was very nervous but my nerves were shortly calmed but a very warm and friendly doctor. He was very thorough and made me feel at ease. Dr. Enoch and his entire staff were very friendly and efficient. I am traveling a great distance to see this doctor and had wondered beforehand whether it was the right decision and I will now say that if I had to travel to see Dr. Enoch's every other day for a year I would do it.
Dr. Enochs seemed very sincere and caring, not rushed. He answered all my questions and he explained complications that can happen. My trust in him is very high. I'd rate him with a 10 on first impressions. He stressed that surgery was a tool, and we have to implement other things to be successful.
Tara was very nice. She explained the tests and insurance schedule. I really liked her. I didn't really talk with anyone else, but when I called, the woman I spoke to was very friendly - I don't remember her name.
I really didn't find anything that I didn't like about Dr. Enochs. He was very professional.
