Dr. Paul Encochs was wonderful. He answered all of mine and my husband's questions. He didn't hold anything back. He even told us that he has lost patients with this procedure. His office staff has been wonderful. Krista, his nurse has been great. She has promptly got my paperwork to insurance company and Tonette has been great. I would highly recommend this office. I would rate his practice a 8/10. The only thing we had was to wait in the waiting room for almost an hour before our appointment.
Dr Enochs is a very patient doctor. He has great patient and patience skills. I had many questions to ask him, and some may have sounded silly, or absurd, but he kindly made time to answer each and every one of them. He seemed to have set aside time to talk to his patients, and get to know them, rather look at this from an money making opportunity.
The staff there was very helpful and caring. They did not make it obvious that I was "over-weight". The rooms were equipped with larger cuffs, which made it more comfortable instead of them trying the old standard, and then having to go and search for one that will probaly fit. I thought that was very "thoughtful" of them.
He let me know about the potentional risks of this surgery, and he also told me this would be a life changing surgery. He wanted to make sure that I was ready for this. After he felt that I was really committed to this, he said that he felt I was a good candidate, and if hte medical reports all checked out, he would accept me as a patient. I felt that he only accepts those who are really doing this for the right reasons, and not for the ones that just want a "quik fix". He said that he does turn away people, because of that reason.
Hey, and in the end, he doesn't look that bad either! A real looker, and he will help me become a better person... What a guy! I wonder if he is married!!! Just Joking...
First impression of Dr. Enochs was great. He is very easy to talk to and has a great bedside manner. Seems very understanding and willing and eager to help me become more healthy for my own sake. His office staff are all as nice as he is. I have heard nothing but great things about his surgical abilities. The surgeon who works with him on all bariatric surgeris is Dr. Malik, who is also at Triangle Surgical Associates in Cary. Dr. Enochs was very thorough with me on the very first visit, I didn't feel like just a nother patient in a room with light on waiting for the Dr to come by and write me an Rx. He took his time with me and ansered every question I had.
I am very excited that there is now another WLS surgical choice in the N.C.Triangle area. I originally had my first surgical consult with Dr. Grant at Duke WLS scheduled for Jan. 14, 2003. My daughter works as a CMA for my primary care physician and the practice's Referral Coordinator checked out and approved the Triangle Bariatric Surgical Center. Dr. Enochs has been practicing for 5 years. Dr. Enochs only schedules WLS consults on Fridays. I was able to get my first consult set for December 27! But my daughter called Dr. Enochs' office and was told to have me call each Friday morning and see if there had been any cancellations for WLS consults. I called December 6, 2002 and lo and behold, there had been a cancellation on Friday, December 13, 2002! Yes, I took that date, so my journey starts 2 weeks earlier. Please keep me in your thoughts and prayers! I will update Friday!
3/04/2003 - Dr. Enochs is the greatest! Not only is he a skilled surgeon, but he is a compassionate person. I owe him so much, words, cannot describe how good I feel and it's only been 8 days since my surgery.
My first impression fo Dr. Enochs was very positive. He was very thorough and answered all my questions. He was very supportive and seemed to believe that I would benefit greatly from the surgery. He will do an open RNY. His office staff was very helpful although since my insurance carrier was not contracted with them, I had to jump through some hoops to get them to agree to take me on without paying all upfront but all worked out. Overall, I am very pleased with this entire process. I will be having my pre-op tests done on March 4,5 and 11 with a return visit to Dr. Enochs on March 21. At that time, they will file for insurance approval. If all goes smoothly, I should be having the surgery by the end of April or first of May.
I have my first consult appointment for Feb 21, 2003 at 10:30. So far everytime I've called Dr. Enochs office the staff have been very helpful and willing to answer any questions I have.
I had tried to get an appt with Dr Grant at Duke and must say they did not return phone calls or emails and when I finally did talk to a real person they were rude and hung up on me.
I'll be posting more about Dr Enochs and his staff but I'm really looking forward to my visit with him and his staff and will keep everyone updated.
