Neil S. Marymor, MD, FACS Bariatric Surgeon

He seemed very supportive and understanding.
He was new and hadn't done as many surgeries as some of the surgeons, but he had been a vascular surgeon for 20 years and I liked the way related to me. He practices out of Forest Health center at the Bariatric Treatment Center in Ypsilanti, MI. I don't have any complaints about him. He was very good at putting me at ease but not a huge talker. He explained the procedure in depth and the aftercare in depth as well. Yes, there is a structured aftercare program that he recommends and also the BTC. He went over the risks of surgery many times so I could make a informed decision about the surgery. I would give him a 9 out of a possible 10 from beginning to end. I think both competence and bed side manner are important as a patient's emotional state is as important as his/her physical state. All in all, I had a very positive experience partly because of the Doctor, Hospital, care but I would also say because of my attitude and dedication to understanding the whole process before surgery... and, LUCK!

Dr. Marymor was great. I would recomend him to anyone. He came to see me everyday and was very good to both me and my family.

the staff at btc in ypsilanti is excellent the nurse lionell is just a gem and the helper donna caters to all your needs with understanding and they treat you as idividuals and not like some number

my impression of dr marymore is very professional and not at all compasionate or emotional.

he did an excellent job taking care of me and the surgery went without any complications and the scar is very nice looking

I had my first consultation with Dr. Marymor recently and I really liked him. He was very friendly, patient with me and very thorough in explaining the surgery to me. I felt quite comfortable with him. He explained all the benefits of the surgery and equally emphasized the risks of it. I have confidence that he knew exactly what he was talking about.

MY FIRST IMPRESSION OF DR. MARYMOR WAS GREAT. HE WAS VERY HELPFUL WITH EXPLANING EVERYTHING TO ME AND MY MOTHER (SHE WENT WITH ME TO MY CONSULT). THE STAFF WAS EXTREMELY FRIENDLY. EVEN THE DOORMAN AND ACTUALLY THE WORKERS DOING CONSTRUCTION AT THE HOSPITAL. DR. MARYMOR EXPLAINED THE RISKS AND MADE SURE THAT I UNDERSTOOD THAT THE FOLLOW UP CARE IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS EVERYTHING ELSE. OVERALL I WOULD RATE HIM ON A SCALE OF 1 - 10 (10 BEING BEST)A 9. I BELIEVE SURGICAL SOMPETENCE AND BEDSIDE MANNER ARE BOTH VERY IMPORTANT.

I was very nervous going in to meet with the surgeon for the first time, but after meeting with Dr. Marymor and speaking with him I came out of there feeling relaxed and truly like I was someone important and not just another number. He made me feel like a real person. The staff were all great and made you feel supported and cared about.They were all very thorough with explaining things and asking me questions and answering mine. I didn't feel rushed or neglected in anyway.I am looking forward to going back on Sept. 24, for my pre-testing, then the big day on Oct.5th,2001. It will be here before I am ready, but will go ready or not. Trying to get some things in order here at home that is....lol

THE RECEPTIONEST IN THE WAITING ROOM LOOKED AND ACTED VERY UNFRIENDLY, BUT THE REST OF THE STAFF WERE VERY NICE. DR. MARYMOR WAS FRIENDLY, LISTENED TO MY QUESTIONS, ANSWERED EVERYTHING, AND DID NOT RUSH ME. I CAME VERY WELL PREPARED,AND HE SEEMED PLEASED WITH THAT. I HOPE TO SPEAK WITH HIM AGAIN BEFOR SURGERY, TO MAKE SURE HE TOTALLY UNDERSTAND EACH OTHER, AND TALK A LITTLE MORE ABOUT A FEW MORE CONCERNS I HAVE.
I HAVE SPOKEN, WITH STAFF MEMBERS, LORETTA, MARY, AND FERDINA, THEY HAVE BEEN WONDERFUL. SO FAR I AM SATISFIED WITH MY DECISION.

When I first met Dr. Marymor I felt immediately at ease. He was very thorough and very knowledgable. He went over all aspects of the surgery making sure that he answered all my questions. I also found the staff at BTC to be very kind and helpful.

He was very kind and personable. He took the time to answer all questions and review the surgery. Made me feel secure that surgery would be fine. He asked for a stress test to make sure my chest pains were not a heart problem. All the personel at the BTC were very friendly and helpful.
