Dr. Marymor was very professional and straight forward. He did not sugar coat the seriousness of the surgery. He was very honest about his record, number of surgeries etc.
The staff has been professional and encouraging.
The BTC seems to have an after care program in place. I will tell you more when I have actually experienced it. The dietician came in and spoke to me at pre-op and said we would get to know each other very well in the coming months.
Unfortunately Dr. Marymoe left Forest Health in Ypsillanti to go to Pennsylvania. But I found him to be very nice. I have a hereditary illness and he took the time to talk to my primary doctor about the illness and what steps needed to be taken prior and after the surgery. He didn't shy away from the surgery because he did not know much about the illness. I only had one post op visit with him before he left. He explained all the aspects of the surgery before and after.
My first impression was that he seemed like a serious no nonesense kind of guy.He seems to know what he is doing and enjoys seeing the results.I've only met him once so far,but I did get "good vibes" from him as well as his staff.Everyone seems very compassionate, and makes you feel welcomed even if you are calling to ask questions.Dr. Marymor stresses aftercare and the fact that we also have to do our part.He did explain the risks, and most of them are the same for any surgery one might have.Of course he did let me know it is a major operation and not one to take lightly.I am anxious at this point to meet him again and talk to see if I get the same vibes now that I have approval.I'm waiting for the scheduler as I type to call.....
I met with Dr. Marymor for my initial consultation last month. My first impression on him was that he was very competent and upfront. I liked the fact that he didn't mind any questions that myself or my family asked. He also was very upfront about the complications that could result from the surgery. He definately did not try to "sugarcoat" the situation. I haven't had time for my impression to have changed...we'll see what happens after the surgery. His staff was very friendly to me as well. So far I love Bariatric Treatment Center. They really care, and for me that is fantastic. I couldn't ask for more caring people then those I have found at the BTC center and here at obesityhelp.com. There really isn't anythin that I disliked about Dr. Marymor. He seems to be personable but does have a dry sense of humor. Another thing I like about Dr. Marymor is that he greatly emphasizes aftercare. He lets you know that you have to work..the weight won't come off as much or as fast if you don't do your part. Well I've had my surgery and I must say the Dr. Marymor is like a 15!! He came and changed my dressing more than once (which is a nurse's job) and when I have questions while I'm at home I call the hospital and he personally calls me back! Dr. Marymor is number 1 in my book and I would reccommend him to anyone considering this surgery. He is a caring, compassionate, and wonderful man.
I liked Dr. Marymor right from the start. He was very upfront about the risks. He emphasized the aftercare involved with RNY.
I felt quite comfortable with him as well as all the staff from the Langhorne Bariatric Treatment Center. I knew I had made the right decision about Dr. Marymor and the BTC the minute I walked into their office. Everyone was so warm, friendly, and compassionate. I like that the BTC specializes in RNY, that is very important to me.
I also told Dr. Marymor that not only would I be on his wall of fame one day, but I wanted a job with the Bariatric Treatment Center once I lost all my weight. To which he smiled and chuckled a bit. What better job to have then to help people like me one day.
I only met Dr. Marymore once, when I went in for a consultaion. He took his time with us and answered all of our questions (my husband went with me). I like him. I have read reviews on him here at obesityhelp.com , and feel pretty confident about my choice of using Dr. Marymor and the Bariatric Treatment Center.
He was very straight forward and no nonsense. I met with him for about 20 minutes and he answered all of my questions up to that point. I have only had the one meeting so far so don't have other comments about him at this point.
His office staff, basically the staff at Bariatric Treatment Center in Langhorne, PA was wonderful. They answered a lot of my questions and were very positive.
Dr. Marymor was very strong on aftercare and was honest and up-front as to what to expect after the surgery. He went over the risks of surgery and did not minimize that this is major surgery.
For me, surgical competence is the most important. If you find someone who has a great bedside manner, all the better but I'm an adult and don't really need to feel "warm and fuzzy" about my surgeon.
My First impression of Dr. Marymor was that he waso very kind and had a great bedside mannar..He listened to me and enouraged me at follow ups..He Was Great and his surgical line was awesome Just steristrips on the outside woo-hoo and no cuts around or near my belly button.(This was important to me since when i am all skinny that belly button is getting pierced!!
