Dr.Marymor was very nice to me and my husband. He answered every question we threw at him,and he wasn't annoyed like some doctors can be when you ask alot of questions. The entire staff at BTC is great.Since most of the people that work there have had the surgery themselves, they know what you're going through and they respect you.Their aftercare program is great. They have meetings every month. They have a patient only website.I have my own personal counsellor. So if I ever need help or I just have a question,I have a number of places to turn to.He explained all the risks that go along with the surgery, very matter of factly. It kinda turned my hubby off a little, but he's okay now.I'm nervous.I wouldn't be human if I wasn't.I think surgical competence is important, but bedside manner means something too.
When I first met Dr. Marymor I and my spouse were very impressed with his knowledge and compassion. He was very thorough and answered all of our questions so that we understood what he was talking about. He gave examples and comparsions when needed. As I got to know him, I liked him even better. What a talented surgeon and a truly compassionate man. God has blessed him with his skill and us with the opportunity to get to know him. He is very concerned about who will be there after the surgery, he really stressed 'support' physically and mentally afterwards for me. He even went as far as giving me his personal #'s in the event I needed him, no matter what time. I rate him a 9.5...only because there is always room for knowledge growth in medicine. He is all around the 'best' and I am glad I had him.
My first impression of Dr. Neil Marymor was a good one. He is very pleasant and kind. Very caring. Very knowledgeable on bariatric surgery. Knows what he is doing. This is all he specializes in. Very confident to have him as my surgeon. My impression has not changed about him over this period of time of waiting for insurance approval for the surgery. Dr. Marymor's staff are very pleasant and helpful. Very organized and know what they are doing. I have nothing negative to say about Dr. Marymor or his staff. I would truly recommend anyone considering bariatric surgery to Dr. Neil Marymor at the Bariatric Treatment Center in Langhorne, PA. Dr. Marymore emphasizes aftercare from surgery with great compassion. Very concerned regarding aftercare. Made sure informed you that you have to follow up with him for all follow up appts after surgery and very concerned to make sure you get all blood work needed after surgery is completed. He addressed the risks of surgery in great extent and if had any questions he answers them efficiently. On a scale of 1-10 I rate Dr. Marymor a 10 because he is very thorough in his area of expertise-bariatric surgery. He knows what he is doing. Very knowledgeable and experienced doctor. I feel surgical competence along with good bedside manner plays an important part in good patient care regarding bariatric surgery or any surgery or hospital stay. I feel this is what Bariatric Treatment Center offers. This is why I am choosing to have my Bariatric RNY procedure done at the center with Dr. Marymor.
Update on Dr. Marymor: Has wonderful bedside manner and very concerned for myself and my aftercare. Very thorough in every aspect. He had a structured aftercare program including a structured weight loss program/diet. They really know what they are doing at BTC (Dr. Marymor and his whole nursing staff). Nurses at BTC in Langhorne very compassionate with my care while in the hospital for 4 days. Couldn't ask for better care. BTC has been wonderful to me. Again, I rate Dr. Marymor a 10+ overall. He is an excellent surgeon and know what he is doing. Keep up the good work, Dr. Marymor and nursing staff!! :-)
Dr Marymor appeared to be calm an reserved the first time I met him.His staff was great they were well organize an appeared to no what they were doing.I loved everything about this dr, I would reccomended him to the world he was number one.Dr marymor really lets you no about after care an the importants of taking care of your self.As for the risk ,he will let you no were you stand an the risk you may be facing. I give Dr marymor a 110%, he was great. The bed side manners was great at the hospital they really take care of you.
Dr. Marymour is the absolute BEST!!! From the first visit to the Bariatric Center I felt totally comfortable with the DR. He explained everything that was going to happen and didn't rush to get out of there. After the surgery he came to see me every day and seemed genuinely concerned on how I was feeling and doing.
Dr. Marymour did explain the risks of surgery but I didn't feel that they were any greater risk than any other surgery one could have.
The Dr. also gave me some great information on how to supplement the protein. It seems hard to get all the protein grams in sometimes.
All in all I am absolutely and completely satisfied with Dr. Marymour. I would highly recommend him to anyone considering surgery that lives in the area.
Dr. Marymor is an excellent surgeon with a fantastic bedside manner. His office staff is very professional and seem "on the ball". He has a dry sense of humor, seems sympathetic to "the cause", and made sure my questions were answered pre and post-op. He addressed all the risks of surgery. He didn't have alot to say about aftercare. Wound care and activity restrictions were explained by the RNs, and the dietary restrictions were explaned by the RD. Post-op visits are routinely scheduled. I would rate him as "excellent" overall. In my opinion, surgical competance outweighs bedside manner...but the question is moot since Dr. Marymor's bedside manner was great.
I meet Dr. Marymor back in Jan. of 2003. I liked Dr. Marymor the 1st time I met him. He was right to the point on what to expect. He took his time and answered all my questions. I enjoyed talking to him and the staff. Even though I like the doc and facility I was going to go with another doc. To my suprise my insurance did not approve the operation with this doctor because of a standard test he does. The insurance feels this test is not needed. But the insurance did approve the operation with doc. Marymor. I've waited a long time for approval for the other doctor and finaly found out this information. So in July 2003 I've contacted Dr. Marymor's staff to see if I can have the operation there. I'm awaiting their answer. They are looking into the insurance issues and what they must do to re-open my case. For now I would rate him an 8 until I speak with him more. His surgical competence was better than his bedside manner. Which is more important to me. This is my personal impression about my experience and I make no statements about what other people may experience.
I have only just had a consultation with Dr. Marymor who seemed to be a pretty nice guy he was easy to talk to and I felt very at ease. Every Member of the staff was friendly and informative and willing to share past experiences. Dr. Marymor talked a great deal about after care and the different risks involved with the surgery. I found him to be very informative. The only problem that I had with the entire process was that The staff tried to convince me that I have sleep apnea. Some thing that I do not have. Aside from that I am looking forward to having the oppertunity to work with him further.
Dr Marymor is a complete professional,He does not BS you,he comes right to the point and will answer all your questions .... Ill let you know more after the surgery ..... well its 2 months later and Dr Marymor is the best ,,,,,,, He is very friendly and tells you all you need to know, risks, pain, and what will be expected of you after the surgery.
He even showed up one morning at 4 for another patient and was helping the nurses with the other patients when they became busy ...... and this is rare for a DR and I know because Im a nurse :)
But he did a great job and even called Me at My house at ten at night because I had a concern so I have to give him a great rating
My 1st impression is that he was very reserved and almost not caring - I quickly realized that was not the case AT ALL.
He is very concerned and caring, I think he wanted to impress on my the seriousness of the procedure and ther commitment required by me to changing my lifestyle post-procedure.
He did a fantastic job of explaining the procedure - the risks - the benefits and the aftercare commitment required.
Overall on the frontside of the surgery I'd rate him as outstanding.
On the backside I have to say that he is incredible, VERY caring and VERY thorough. He walked me through everything he did when I went back in with an infection. He is just outstanding in every area, after I came home he called to talk abotu how I was doing that week and we talked for about 15 minutes. He has talked to my work place and helped me with several issues there as well. IMHO he has gone above and beyond the call of his profession to make sure that I have been taken care of very well.
