I could not have picked a better surgeon! He has a great bedside manner, and truly cares about each one of his patients. Most of all, his expertise regarding Weight Loss Surgery.

All the risks of surgery were thoroughly explained to me pre op. The aftercare program is strict, to provide the best possible results.

I have had some pain issues, and had to call the office after hours. Dr Srikanth, and his NP, Tina, have followed through every time making sure that everything was being done at my local hospital to take care of me (I live 2 hours from Federal Way, WA).

The office staff have always been very helpful anytime I have visited the office, or have called with questions or concerns.

I recommend everyone to consider Dr Srikanth when considering Weight Loss Surgery! His surgical competence and bedside manner are outstanding.

The only negative aspect for me, has been that my surgeon is out of my area, but I knew this in the beginning.

Year Update: At a year post opp my impressions have changed. I am not sure what has happened with Dr S's staff but it is not the quality I was expecting. The Office Manager is not running a happy ship. You can tell when you call that she doesn’t get it (anything). Not cordial or understanding and if I let her could have made me feel bad about even calling. While at my first appointment the emphasis was on aftercare, I am finding that this is all talk with no substance. As a post surgical patient, I expected not to have to pay $175.00 to see a nurse. Nor did I expect that when I asked about incorporating certain foods into my diet at a year out, I would be met with “we recommend those”….really if you recommend them – than why are they not in the patient handbook? If their recommendations have changed in a year – great! Don’t you think that you owe it to your patient to advise them of the changes? They made it very clear to me that even attending support groups outside of his practice was discouraged as other physicians don’t have his same philosophy, but there is no support coming from his office.
I would have expected at least an email every couple months inquiring to my status and could they be of assistance (even if it is just that they are trying to drum up business for themselves it would be nice to be contacted). How about a news letter on possible updated food substitutions, and recipes? When some of us paid $35K out of pocket with promises of follow up care and get nothing….that is frustrating.
The only good thing in his office Ura the patient coordinator is now no longer there and she was the glue. I want only one go to person and she was that person. She would take my call and then direct me to whom handled that area of information, she would listen and relate. There is not that kind of service anymore.
I have already recommended one person who was self pay for the DS and now feel bad as they feel like they were left out there to flounder and they feel like if it wasn’t for OH.com they would be screwed.
While Dr. Shrikanth is an awesome surgeon, his support staff is taking away from the success of his practice. I am now very disappointed.

Update: So coming up on my first three month labs and I ran into some swelling issues with my legs. Dr S is just so good about working with my PCP to guide them in helping me.

Original: Well at first based on other postings on OH I thought his program was very strict, however based on my bodies reactions to the surgery and loosing etc... I think he is right on track and there are reasons for his program. He is friendly and straight forward. I loved the bariatric coordinator Ura, she really was a great first point of contact to work your way through the system. Nurses and Nutritionist had great presence as well. I liked the fact that Dr S keeps your primary in the loop. Still too early to discuss aftercare or what I would change as I don’t have the info yet.

Absolutely love Dr. Srikanth. He has such enthusiasm for what he does, he can very very highly recommended by others that have had him perform their surgerys, there is nothing that I don't like about this man. His office staff is great and so very helpful in providing all the information that is needed to get the surgery approved. I rate Dr. Srikanth with a "10".

Dr. Srikanth is an extraordinary surgeon who ensures his patients have the best possible chance for success. The first time I met Dr. Srikanth I was impressed. He explained the surgical options and then asked me which surgery I was interested in. When I told him I wanted the lapband, he told me I would have great success with the band. He was so right! Dr. Srikanth continues to impress me. If I have questions, he answers them. If I am concerned about something, he calms me. He has a wonderful "bedside manner." Dr. Srikanth has a great followup program. He doesn't just operate and cut you loose. I believe the followup program is one of the reasons his patients have better weight loss than many other surgeon's patients. Dr. Srikanth and his staff are all awesome. When I walk into his office, everyone knows me by name. The staff is extremely knowledgable and helpful. Dr. Srikanth has gone out of his way to hire surgical weight loss patients to work in his office. It is so nice to know the person you are talking to has been there! I highly recommend Dr. Srikanth to anyone who is considering a weight loss surgery!

Dr Srikanth is a very bright surgeon. I had been to several different consultations and I was most impressed with him. He is a no nonsense, call you out, and fast talking doctor. He is loud and his laugh can be heard in the waiting room. He will throw you a ton of information and if you ask he will explain further; if you don’t ask he tends to assume that you got it. His office staff is great!! They are so helpful, pleasant and understanding. The girls are a great asset to his practice. They make every effort to make sure your needs are met both pre and post op. He is goes thru your history with a fine tooth comb and he reads thru your file every time you see him… beware sometimes it is awkward sitting there in silence while he is reading your history. He found that I was vitamin deficient in several areas and we worked on getting my vitamin levels up prior to surgery. His staff stepped it up a notch when my insurance first denied my request and quickly faxed out the information that the insurance company wanted. Within 10 days of the initial submission I had an approval and a surgery date. I went to most of my visits alone; hubby only came to the final Pre-op appointment… even though I had educated my hubby on what was going to happen. Dr. Srikanth took the time to make sure hubby understood what was going to happen, any complications that might arise and was patient to answer all of hubby’s questions. After surgery, Dr. Srikanth talked to hubby twice about my recovery while I was waking up and then visited us again once I was released into the hospital surgical floor. He and his PA visited me again when he discharged me from the hospital. During my post op recovery, Dr. Srikanth and his staff have been very helpful and supportive with any issues that have arisen. I have had very little problems and my recovery has been “normal” and smooth. Not only did I have Lap RNY, but had a hiatal hernia repaired and my gall bladder removed. I am very glad that I choose Dr. Srikanth for this surgery and would recommend him to anyone that is interested in WLS.

I found my surgeon on the St. Francis website after having a very dissappointing experience with a different \"center of excellence\". I watched his web seminar and was immediately impressed. His web seminar covered all the bases and, for the most part, answered all of my questions before I even met him in person.rnrnWhen I met him for my first consult,I was nervous because all doctors make me nervous, but I was eager to get started. We talked a bit about the different surgical options. And in the end, because of my type II diabetes, I decided on the proximal gastric bypass. Dr. Srikanth did not rush me to a decision but was encouraging and enthusiastic.rn rnI had my endoscopy yesterday. rnAs soon as I saw Dr. Srikanth, I started to relax. His booming laughter and easy chatter makes him very likable and I feel safe in his care. rnrnHis office staff is warm and professional (except for a select few). They got my surgery approved in record time!
