7, 10 if I got to meet with him early in the visits. I believe in first impressions.
both
both great.
I have not met him yet, but will be for the first time on Dec. 23rd for my pre-op. I feel like I know him already from reading and hearing about how great he is from other members and patients. I am sure that I will be in the best of hands. The office staff has been responsive to my phone calls (considering how busy they are this time of year) and I look forward to getting to know all of them a little better over the next year.
I didn't actually get to meet Dr. Jawad until our scheduled pre-op appointment visit. At first it seemed strange that I would schedule myself to have a man do surgery whom I had never had any contact with. On the day of our group appointment--Dr. Jawad schedules a group of his surgical patients and their support persons to all meet at his office for a group education seminar. I had read everything I could about the man--his educational background, experience, etc and felt that he was good at what he did. His instructions are set up so that just about everything you and your family needs to know is presented by the time that pre-op appointment is finished. When Dr. Jawad came out to do his part of the program that day, I felt for sure that I had made the right choice. I really can't think of anything that I didn't like about the man--I kinda missed getting to chat with and get to know him better, but once I went into his office for our individual time with him I just knew that the focus was on me and what my questions and needs were at that time. He answered all our questions and I was the last patient of the day--he gave no indication that he wanted to get out of there and gave me as much time as I needed. I think his office staff is as well organized and friendly as him. They all did everything possible to get me to my goal of surgery. Any time I've called with questions or concerns I've always been given what I needed. I thought that after surgery the nurse from his office would see us at the hospital and would discharge us and we wouldn't see him. But that day we were informed that he wanted to make rounds and visit each one of us. He made sure that I had been given discharge instructions and to see if I had any questions for him. He was very pleasant, joking and seemed to genuinely care for me and my health. Some of the profiles painted him to be very professional but not very personable, but I totally disagree. His aftercare program is well set up--during our pre-op appointment he told us that we would all be his patients for life--ours or his. And at any time between scheduled check-ups if we had problems or concerns to be sure and contact his office. During his powerpoint presentation he went over all the surgical risks and explained each one thouroughly. By the time it was our turn to sign our "informed consents" for the surgical procedure--I felt I was well informed for sure. I feel so very lucky and blessed that God led me to Dr. Jawad--I'm new to Florida and didn't have any idea of which doc was right for the job, and I really believe it would have been nearly impossible to have found a doctor who was better equipped for what my needs were. On a scale of 1-10 I have to agree with some of my fellow patients , Dr. Jawad YOU are a 12!!! I would encourage anyone having this procedure to reseach Dr. Jawad and his website and seriously consider him for your weight loss surgery.Well, I guess I've rambled on enough for this time. All of you out there trying to decide about this surgery--do your homework and make sure you feel right about your choice of surgeon and type of procedure.
Direct, to the point, answered all my questions. Impression remains the same, except after the surgery I have more respect for him. Office staff is overall very friendly and supportive. I was a little disappointed prior to surgery and getting a surgery date because it took sometimes days for them to return my calls. I had to be very persistent. I feel by choosing Dr. Jawad to do my surgery, I was very lucky. I could not have asked for a better surgeon. They have a wonderful aftercare program. Multiple follow up appointments, nutritionist on had, Physical therapist with exercise programs, support groups, etc... Dr. Jawad addressed the risks of surgery multiple times. I rate him SUPERB! Surgical competence is probably better than bedside manner, not that he si rude or anything, he is just quiet .
I didn't get to meet Dr. Jawad untill pre-op 6 days before surgury, but I had done all the reserch I could over the internet. His stats were the best and he lived up to everything I had read. He awnsered all questions (though limited due to the fine job the staff had done before hand)in detail in a language anyone could understand. In the one on one I felt comfortable and confident I had made the right choice. In my book he was a 9.5 out of 10 (no one is a 10)
Dr. Jawad is very soft spoken but, is very informative about the surgery, the risks of surgery, and he really emphasizes aftercare. He has completed over 1000 lap RNYs. He was able to answer all of my questions and didn't make me feel incompentent for asking. His office staff has been wonderful. They have always returned my calls immediately, and have always been very pleasant and willing to help.
