I first met Dr. Jawad on Jan.7, 05. He explained the proceedure to me & my husband. Dr, Jawad address all the risk factors to me. I did not have a problem with them at all.

He was very blunt and to the point.
I learned he is very busy and in demand, but has full concern for his patients.
His staff is great!! Love them all.
Would of liked more time on first visit, for him to explain process.
Ask the questions, and have your question list ready.
He emphasizes aftercare a great deal.
yes
explained in detail the risks.
I would rate him a 10.
both great

I have not met Dr. Jawad yet. My first appointment was with Sylvia his nurse practitioner and I really liked her. She was very informative about the surgery and I felt at ease talking to her. The other staff members were great too. We were from out of town (2.5 hours away) and they helped me get scheduled with a nutritionist that day while we were in Ocala. They were very accomodating to my needs. They have responded very quickly to my calls and emails. My impression is that Dr. Jawad is a perfectionist so I know that I made the right decision on choosing him. They were very adamant about taking care of yourself afterwards. The follow-ups after the initial check-ups will be at 6 month intervals so that makes me feel really good about the after care. Sylvia was very straight forward about the risks of surgery and that made me feel better because they didn't try to sugar coat it. So, far I rate the whole experience with a 10. The only bad thing was that it was pooring down rain on our trip there and I can't hold that against them.

he does not have an outgoing personility. but he makes up for it in experience. i had no problems and only slight pain. over time i only gained trust in him. the office staff were about the best you can find anywhere. i had questions after i got home. i was able to pick up the phone and call them any time and ask a question. trust this doctor. he will give you no reason not to. before and after care is emphazized greatly. they go over everything and a lot of things twice. i belive surgical competence is better.

I met with the Dr. at pre-op and was very impressed by his knowledge. I had researched him throughly on the internet and had others who had surgery with him. His office staff is very helpfel and kind. You must follow his advice. I have had no sickness what so ever since surgery and I believe its because I follow him exactly.
The onlu negative I had was a couple of nurses at the hospital were not as friendly as I thought they should be and I was not prepared mentally for the amount of pain of the first couple of days.
Other than that, my only complaint now is the feeding tube and I cannot wait to eat some solid food.

I spent time researching surgeon's and I knew I wanted Dr. Jawad to perform my surgery beacuse of his vast experience and known superior skill.

I have never regrettedmy decision. My clinical course was as he described it. His office clinicians have all been thorough. My care was exceptional.

Dr. Jawad is sometimes percieved as not very emotional or aloof, but this is not a flaw, it is just his personality that he is not very demonstrative of his emotions. he is however very straight forward and honest, which for me was very valuable. His nure practitioner Sylvia is smart, kind, and a great listener. She has become not only a trustedcare giver but also a friend.

My first impression of Dr. Jawad was that he is all business and no play ( no joking around).A very serious person.

Have not spent much time with him.

The office staff is very friendly and helped out with all my questions.

I can't find anything that I don't like about the Dr. or his staff.

I would like to answer that after surgery.

He did say after care is very important.

They do have a after care program that they like for us to attend but I live almost 3 hous away. So I have a local support group I attend.

I think he did a great job talking about the risks and complications of this surgery.

On a scale of 1-10 he's a 9, 10's are hard to come by and i'll let you know after surgery if my number changes.

I would say both but surgical competence is a must.

I am 6 days post op and have met Dr Jawad and his staff, he is a wonderful man who has a God given gift, he was very kind to me and I will not stop thanking him for his great work.
He is very diligent about the whole process and the orientations and the presurgical orientation covered everything he was going to do and what to expect.

I have had the best experiance and will sing his praises.

Dr. Jawad is a man of few words, but I was not paying for his personality! I found him to be extrememly professional and had impecable credentials. The office staff were all so nice and helpful. There was nothing I did not like about him but I did have a slight problem understanding his english at times.

After the surgery I was seen by someone else in his office each time - not him. I assume this is due to his busy surgery schcedule. I was sent back home to Tallahassee (3 hours away) when released from the hospital and extensive aftercare instructions were given.

The only bad part was being sent home with a draininage tube on one side and a feeling tube on the other. I had to keep the drainiage tube in for a week and the feeding tube for a month! That hurt soooo much. Everytime I would bend over or turn - it would burn so bad.

I would rate Dr. Jawad a 9 in surgical compentence and about a 3 in bedside manner.

My first impression of Dr. Jawad was impressive. His office is very efficient and organized. I always get immediate help and I am still very impressed with him and his staff as well as the care I received in the hospital. The office staff is very professional, friendly and helpful. The thing I liked least about the doctor was he seemed a little stuffy, not very friendly, but he was very informative and serious. The aftercare program is great. During your pre-op visit, you see a nutritionist, a physical therapist (for exercise program), a nurse and the doctor. All instructions are also given in writing. I have referred to them many times since my surgery. He was very straightforward about the risks associated with surgery, but I was very healthy beforehand, and was told I would be an excellent candidate for surgery. I think surgical competence is better, but it would be great to have both!
