Michael W. Johnell M.D., F.A.C.S Bariatric Surgeon

My inpression of Dr. Johnell was yup he is a doctor. He knows what he is doing and he knows the facts. The staff is very friendly and I always get my questions answered and/or a call back very quickly. They have been very good about keeping up with me and making sure i'm taking all the right steps and updating them as I go along. A couple of times now I've needed to change appointment times and they have always been very good and flexible with me as well.

Had my initial consultation 6/19/09 in Greeley, CO. So far I am impressed with Dr. Johnelle and his staff. Every one seems supportive and knowledgeable. There are a lot of steps and pre-op requirements, but it all seems to be planned and laid out clearly.

I adore Dr. Johnell's clinic. He is fantastic and understanding, but the staff is stupendous! They have each held my hand and supported me every step of the way. Although this clinic is 3 hours away from home, I don't mind the drive.

What an amazing office. When I met Dr. Johnell he was courteous, kind and understanding. His office staff was the BOMB. They are fast to answer questions to talk to you about anything you need to. They help every step of the way. I had to move in the middle of this process and it was worth my time to travel back to colorado to work with this team. I trust them explictly.

I would rate this office a 10 out of 10.

Dr. Johnell and his staff have been so nice and understanding, as well as informative. I felt that I was prepared for everything that's happened. rnrnI had to get cleared by a cardiologist and get a sleep study prior to surgery. These were a bit of a pain, but I would rather my surgeon be cautious. His staff helped me get my appointments set up and everything fell into place.rnrnDr. Johnell and his staff have really gone the extra mile to make sure that I'm successful at this and will be there for me in the future. They offer lots of classes and a support group. I would not hesitate to recommend Dr. Johnell to anyone.rnrnI also had a great experience with the hospital (NCMC). It was a long drive for me (1.5 hours), but it was probably my best hospital experience. I could have gone to a hospital closer to home, but I would have faced a long wait. I stayed at the Hospitality House on the hospital grounds just before my surgery, and was able to do my preparation and last pre-op appointment from there.

First impression was just WOW. I couldn't believe how nice they were and not making me feel outcast at all. They were very understanding and ready to answer all my questions.

Dr. Johnell has a very comprehensive bariatric program. He has a fantastic staff that works with you every step of the way and is always available if you have questions.rnrnDr. Johnell goes over the procedures, risks and benefits with you and is concerned that you understand what a big step this surgery is.

The first time I met Dr. Johnell was at the information session I attended. He was very nice and answered all of the questions - in fact, he seemed eager to answer them.rnrnI like Dr. Johnell - even though I've only really met him like four times. His staff is awesome and the program is well rounded. It works on the mind, the body, the behavior, the long term plan. I chose their program because of the classes and the post surgery support systems they have in place.rnrnThe two PAs are great - Paula and Steve have both done my fills and both seem to have a genuine interest in my health and my goals.rnrnThis program is all about the aftercare and I suppose they're quite conservative with the recover diet. I liked that. I appreciated them putting my health first.rnrnI went in for a fill and Paula realized I was going to travel. She wouldn't give me the fill until after I returned and she didn't charge me for an office visit. She was more concerned that I be near them if something didn't go well than she was about making money.rnrnYou would not be disappointed with this doctor or his team. I look forward to seeing the staff when I go and I know that they are there if something goes wrong.

March: My first contact with Dr. Johnell was on the cd of information that his so far great staff sent me. From the information and fact sheets he seems quite competant. April: Had my first visit with Dr. Johnell, His staff is great and he seems to be a peach so far. rnJuly 13, 2008 Dr. Johnell and his staff are exellent people and professionals. I would HIGHLY recommend them to anyone considering WLS. They Know their stuff!!!

Dr. Johnell and his staff are incrediable and I'm so thankful for them! They had to fight my insurance company so that I could have the surgery and they never let me give up hope!
