Larry Hobson Bariatric Surgeon M.D.,F.A.C.S.
4/6/06 Was officially, the 1st time that I met Dr. Duncan. I liked him from the start of my pre op session. (Complication Class). He was very thorough and explained the risks of the surgery. He was humorous. gave us the good, the bad and the ugly version of what could happen and what would happen if you don't follow the program. I can't wait, My surgery is 04/10 @530am time to be at hospital
My first impression of Dr. Duncan was good. He was very knowledgable about the surgery. He seem to be a nice guy, very good sense of humor. He really seem to care about his patients. He discuss the ups and downs of the weight loss surgery. He also told everyone that there will be a time when he will try to talk us out of the surgery. That let's me know he's not in it for the money but for my health and well being. I had my Consultation with Dr. Fields she was ok, she talked about the surgery as for as what will be happening to us. She did seem to be a bit in a hurry. She explained to us that Dr. Duncan had about 3 other Surgeons working with him so that he didn't have a long waiting list of patients waiting to have surgery. She also said she was there to help with aftercare. Jackie and the other staff was nice and friendly. I have heard alot of negative about Dr.Duncan and his staff but overall they were great to me.
At the seminar I met Dr. Duncan and he seemed really nice and has a great personality. He also did our complications class and I was impressed by his candor. The staff at his office was very nice and understanding. No one seemed miffed by the fact that I called on a daily basis for awhile sometimes 2 or 3 times a day when I was waiting on approval. I haven't had a chance to meet Dr. Hobson yet. I am so excited about the surgery. I had a hard time getting in touch with the right person up to my approval but after that things were very smooth sailing.
I have not met with Dr. Smith as of 10/29/03, however, my appt. for consultation with him is on 12/12/03! I have met Donna from his office and she was fabulous; very helpful, friendly, and honest.
LOL...it is now Nov. 2005 and I am using Dr. Titus Duncan with Peachtree Bariatrics. I have attended the seminar and am awaiting the pre-pre-op visit with Dr. Duncan. So far, I have been very pleased with the process and steps taken from the AMC and Dr. Duncan's office. Lolita and Tracy have been fabulous.
Dr. Hobson was my surgeon and I did not meet him unitl after surgery. He came by after recovery and once before I went home the next day. He seemed extremely nice and had genuineness that I really appreciated.
Well, I was approved on Dec. 20th by Medicaid of Georgia, and my surgery date is the 9th of Jan. 2006. It is Friday 01/06/06 and I had my green field filter placed today by Dr. Pondexter at AMC in Atlanta, had no problem, only a little sore, but that is to be expected. And tomorrow I start 2 day bowel prep. Yucky drink stuff, but what must be done I will do with bells on, to get this weight off and to start a healthy life style to the loosing side of life. The staff at AMC are great and very friendly and caring, I would recommend them highly to anyone. I have never felt so at ease in a hospital than I did today, there, they explain things in english, not in medical terms that sometime can be very confusing to we lay people. To the staff at AMC, and doctors, you are #1 in my book.
God bless each of you.
Sincerely,
Lynda
Well, Initially I thought that Dr. Duncan was going to perform my surgery but he did not.
Dr. Duncan addressed the risks of the surgery, conducted most of the informational sessions leading up to getting the surgery date, however he does not preform on all of the patients.
Dr. Hobson was my surgeon, I really did not have to opportunity to meet him until the day of the surgery. I was confident that he'd do a good job and he did.
I had no complications, with the exception of having gallstones about 6 months after my surgery (from what I understand this is common) He also performed that procedure. I had no pain. He called and checked on my to ensure that I was doing well. I am thoroughly impressed with Dr. Hobson and the rest of the staff at Peachtree Surgical.
I was unsure who was going to do my surgery from Dr. Duncans group the only one I had meet was him. But on the day of I was down getting preped and he came and talked to me he was very nice asked me if I had any questions. I told him no and I was ready he just smiled and said so was he. I had the best experince . Everyone from Lolita and Tracy to Yakima , Shona . also Shannon was very nice. I can not forget Dr. Fields. Oh yes there was also Dr. Hobson's P.A Pat he was so nice explained everything to me and my husband. I just am so blesssed to have had them all working with me and on . To give me a new life. I pray everday for them all. They work so hard .
