Jose Rodriguez Bariatric Surgeon

I had my sleeve surgery on March 17,2011. I have nothing but good things to say about this experience. The Doctors and nurses all spoke English except maybe 2 nurses who would go get help if they couldn't understand me or I couldn't understand them. The hospital was very nice, clean, and the floor I stayed on had a in house Dr. who was in my room probably 5 times a day. The staff all took great care of me and my mother in law who was not a patient. I stayed at a hotel that was right around the corner when I was released and it was amazing. The surgeons team came to visit me one last time in my hotel room. The restaurant had a delicious chicken broth so I was able to eat. They are used to patients staying at the hotel after surgery so they are very accommodating. The employees at the hotel also spoke English. I wouldn't change my experience and am very glad I did it. I am having great results I lost 52 pounds in my first 2 months. I highly recommend Dr. Rodriguez.

I loved Dr Rodriguez and his staff. I went to the Tijuana location at INT Hospital. Hospital was small but nice and the staff and doctors were super friendly. All the doctors spoke english and even though some of the nurses didn't I was always able to convey what I needed or they grabbed one of the nurses that did speak english. My recovery has been a pretty smooth one and I am happy with my decision to get sleeved by Dr. Rod and his staff. The hotel I was put up in after being released from the hospital was beautiful as well. They have delicious broth and so does the lil taco stand down the street from the hotel. I would most definitely do this again.

I had my surgery with Dr. Rodriguez April 26th 2011 at Starr Medica Hospital everything went great.The hospital was very clean all of the nurses were very helpful . I saw a Dr every day I was there .I'm feeling great I'm glad a made this decision ...THANKS SO MUCH DR RODRIGUEZ AND STAFF !!!!

Dr. Rodriguez and his team were caring and took very good care of me , the hospital Star Medica was the cleanest hospital I've ever seen. Cleaner than any hospital in US. He and his team spoke very good english, however some of the staff, at the hospital spoke no english, but you could always find some one who did if you needed to. I had a few people who had Dr. Rod and was very happy with him and had a great surgery, I was up and out of bed within hours of my surgery and felt GREAT. I would HIGHLY recommend Dr. Rod, he is a very caring and dedicated Doctor. I was in Juarez and felt very safe, don't believe every thing you read!

However I had to go threw B-lite to schedule my surgery, once I was back home b-lite was no where to be heard from. I would not recomend B-lite as a go to bussiness. I've called them many times to try to get paper work I needed to submit to my insurance and they have as yet get me what is needed, Had I known b-lite was not going to be there for me, which they stated they would be at the time of scheduling my surgery, I would have found other means of contacting Dr. Rod. B-lite made promises they did not keep, once they got your money nothing else mattered to them! My experience with them was not worthy. Try to get to Dr. Rod on your own, you will not regret having him as your surgeon.

He is very good. I would highly recommend him and Star Medica in Mexico!

Dr. Rodriguez did an excellent job at making me and my husband feel comfortable throughout the entire process. He was friendly, polite, professional and respectful to our conditions. Dr. Rodriguez answered all of our questions promptly and efficiently.

On January 21, 2002 I had the Gastric Sleeve procedure preformed by Dr. Jose Rodriguez in Tijuana. It has been less than a week and I can't believe how good I feel. Since I started the optional pre-surgery diet up to today I have lost 20 lbs. I have plenty of energy and no desire to eat. I am eating enough to keep my body nourished properly, no problem.
The day after surgery I layed in bed and thought that I had made a huge mistake. That only lasted a day and I felt great from that point on.
I'm really looking foreward to getting back to a smaller size and my health improving.
As for my experience with Dr. Rodreguez and the Be Lite Weight group, I would recomment them. I did research Dr. Rodriguez and his team to be sure that they were qualified. I assure you they are all qualified and then some. They are also the kindest group of people I've ever met.
My insurance would not cover the surgery so after years of dieting I felt that this was my only option to prolong my life. There were a few minor communication problems because I speak very little Spanish, but nothing serious. The co-oridinator JoAnn was an angle. She was at the hospital and available the entire stay which gave me a real sense of security. The area of Tijuana where the hospital is located is very nice. Please don't listen to the bad press about how dangerous it is to go to Tijuana. If you don't go into dangerous situations or areas you don't have anything to worry about.
I give Dr. Rodriguez a thumbs up!

I had a wonderful experience in Mexico. Dr. Rod and his staff was so professional and the customer service was so outstanding. The hospital (INT) was so clean that you could eat off the floor.

Dr. Rod assistants Dr. Elmo and Dr. Sanchez was great. The answered all my questions with patience and their bedside manner was great.

I don't have any regrats going to Mexico and would do it all over again and Dr. Rod without a doubt would be my surgeon of choice.

The service provider was Beliteweight and they were also great. I couldn't qualify going thru the regular finanical option but Beliteweight offers in house financing and because of them I was able to get financed even with my severe credit issues.

I was very impressed with the hospital and staff, Dr. Rodriguiez and his staff bend over backwards to ensure that you are well informed and comfortable. I would reccomend the hospital and staff to my family and friends.Although there is alot of concern about the safety in Mexico at this time I was never concerned about my safety.
The satff is always willing to help and answer any questions, and the physcians are very concerned that you understand your surgurey and the diet modifications that go along with it.

I had surgery on 9/23/2010, in Mexico with Dr. Jose Rodriguez. He was soooo nice and detailed, not only him but the entire staff were great. They supplied me with all the information they had explained about post-op in writing and email addresses and 1800 numbers to call. The facility was nice and clean and the nurses were so attentive. I would rate my whole experience a ten on ascale one to ten. It was a great experience. Haven't had any complications!
