I love Dr. Aranow. He is very knowledgable and experienced. In a time where this surgery has become so popular, it's nice to know you have a good surgeon who has performed several hundred bypass surgeries and is not just jumping on the band wagon. I trust him and would reccomend him to anyone.

My first impression of Dr. Aranow is that he was very confident in his manner of communication. He was also approachable. I liked and respected him immediately. My first impressions have only changed for the better since having my surgery. Dr. Aranow has to be one of the best surgeons in the country doing this surgery. His staff is friendly if not overwhelmed. I have no complaints about Dr. Aranow, none whatsoever. He absolutely places the responsibility of recovery, aftercare, and ultimate weight loss success on the patient. This is as it should be. His aftercare program is superlative, no questions left unanswered. The risks were explained to me in great detail and reinforced in every conversation we had! He wants to make sure you are doing this for the right reasons (regaining quality of life and health). On a scale of 1-10, I rate Dr. Aranow a solid 10. Surgical competence is, of course, much more important than a person's demeanor, but Dr. Aranow has both in spades. My review of Dr. Aranow is 100 percent positive because this represents my experience with him. I feel I am doing other people a great service by suggesting they research him before they decide on a surgeon on Connecticut. He's that good.

My first impression of Dr. Aronow was a very good one. During the seminar I attended he was so thorough with answering questions as well as speaking about bariatric surgery. He left no stone unturned. He is also strict which is wonderful, some doctors let you slide and then it just causes complications in the end. My process took 1 year and a half and it's been nice working with his staff.
Aftercare is very much emphasized, this surgery is a big change and aftercare is very very important. I have a surgery date now at the end of March. I will post any post-op info after that.

My first impression was "wow, so young!" My impression of him has increased 100 fold after my first meeting with him. He and his staff are wonderful and I look forward to having my surgery because of them. I have talked with quite a few of his patients and am very hopeful that my surgery will be a total success. Will comment more after surgery.

Dr. Aranow is confident but not cocky, tells it like it is, and presents a great seminar.

His office staff is tremendous.

He presents a realistic picture of what one can expect.

I will update as I get further into this process, but I really liked Dr Aranow. His confidence made me feel much more positive about the surgery.

First contact I had with Dr. Aranow's office and I needed no more convincing. Just like Dr. A, the young lady I spoke to over the phone was very knowledgeable, friendly and thorough. She answered most of the questions I had over the phone and wasn't rude or impatient. I was expecting for Dr. Aranow to be young, so I was prepared to see a young face. Yes, he is a doctor, but I don't sense that he is in the business just for the money. There is this genuine feeling of wanting to save lives. He is very concerned and very willing to work with the patient, not as another client, but as another life he's responsible for.

I've been researching him for months, comparing to other state's top surgeons and by far, I will go into the OR with him with wide eyes shut.

The first time I saw Dr Aranow was at his mandatory group seminar on 6/2/03. My impression of him was that he was very confident about himself and his abilities in performing this surgery.
I met with him for my individual meeting on 8/5/03 and my impression didnt change from when I first heard him speak about the surgery. He seems to be a person who is multi talented and tireless and I think thats a good thing for his patients.
He was also very pleasant and down to earth from what I experienced.

My first introduction to Dr. Aranow was through one of his informative group seminars. He was very relaxed and at ease with a room full of people. He made everyone feel comfortable and he explained every step of the procedure so that all could understand. He had a great deal of confidence in himself and the surgery. Dr. Aranow was very straight forward about his expectations and the committment it involved from his patients.
My consultation was rather quick and uneventful so I'm glad I had attended the seminar prior to my visit.

My first impression was that he looked so young. And about 2 minutes into his seminar, I knew this man was smart and confident. I knew I could trust him. His staff is the best, kind, patient, and informative. I really hope they know how many lives they are changing for the better.
