Dr Schram, along with his office staff, are professional, friendly and direct. I highly recommend him. His surgical competencies and skills are excellent. Dr Schram's bedside manner is the best I have ever seen in my nursing career. You won't be disappointed (unless you choose to be); instead, you will be in great hands as he prays with you before surgery.
My first impression of Dr Schram, was positive, he put me at ease as soon as I shook his hand.
The staff from the Barix Clinic were very helpful and explained to me what was going to happen, I was very impressed.
When Dr Schram, did explained the full procedure in our group, he held nothing back. He let you know what you need to do and explained it in terms that everyone understood. Not medical simple english terms. All in all his explanation in the group forum and his one on one with me, allowed me to make my decision there and then that this is exactly what I need to do and he is the surgeon that I would want to perform this procedure on me.
Overall Dr Schram 's rating was 100%, I would recommend him to others and I still have not been approved for my surgery so I cannot at this time comment on his bedside manner, but will once approval and surgery date has been finalized.
The first time I saw Dr. Kam he was rushed, he had an emergency waiting for him. What I seen was good and I thought he was thorough. So as far as judging him I can't and won't. I haven't met him and won't again until my surgery date. I have heard some great things about this Dr. I think his office staff is wonderful.. all of them and thank them for all their help so far.rnrnI saw Dr. Kam today for my after surgery check up. He is a wonderful surgeon and a very nice Dr. I really am glad I was able to have him as my dr.rnrnThank you Dr. Kam!rnrnOne more thing, I'd like to wish Dr. Kam much success in his future. I will miss him as my Dr. rnrnSince Dr. Kam left I am now using Dr. Schram at Barix.rnrnHe is great!.. he knows what I need and when.. if I ask for a tweak that's what I get.. and as far as hitting the *right spot*.. he doesn't have to poke around to find my port.. I am very happy with Dr. Schram..
He is knowledgeable and kind at my consultation.
My husband had him for surgery in July of 2008, and I was impressed that he actually prayed with him prior to surgery. It was nice.
Aftercare is important. 3 week, 6 week checkups, as well as bloodwork and lab work at 3 months, 6months, 9 months and a year. I went with my hubby for his checkups and Dr. Schram included me as family in the aftercare. He is very thorough.
I would rate him a 10 out of 10 stars. He is competent, and kind.
No negatives to share about him. I have yet to go through aftercare or surgery, that is in about 3 days!
My surgeon will be Dr.Schram at Barix in Yipsilani, MI. I met him for initial consult in March 2009. I liked him. i felt really confident that he knew what he was doing, and i trust that he will take good care of me. I only just got OHIP approval for coverage, so i am waiting on a surgery date. I guess I'll be a better judge of him later right? But seriously, i have really good feelings about him, seems really competent, caring, and he has a sense of humour, which i find really important in a doctor, because it lightens me up a bit as i tend to be a major worry wart!!!!
I actually change surgeons to Dr. Schram after meeting him and just deciding he had the best bedside manner.rnDidn't change I still think he's great and he has a warm smile that lets you know he's taking care of you.rnBariatric Treatment Centers was great, everyone friendly.rnThere was nothing I didn't like.rnIf you choose him as your surgeon you won't be disappointed.rnAfter care was great, very concise.rnHe does.rnExplained the risk but for me there was no worry.rnon a scale of 1 to 10, I'd say he's got to be an 11...lolrnAll of these, but trust is your biggest factor in depending on your surgeon and I couldn't have trusted him more.
Dr. Schram was the most amazing person when I was going through this. He took the time to meet with my boyfriend and I one on one and answered all of our questions without delay. He did follow-up calls with my after my surgery and even let me take a picture with him the last time I was there.
I have never met a doctor with such a gentle and caring bedside manor. I could never have found a better surgeon to handle my procedure.
Dr Schram is an 11 out of 12 and anyone who is lucky enough to have him for a surgeon should jump on the chance!!!
My very first impression of Dr. Schram he greeted everyone with a nice welcoming smile. He took the time to get to know me and also my family. I enjoyed my first appt. with Dr Schram; He was able to give me a better understanding of the process from start to finish. He also suggested other options that are available for me to consider. he was able to answer all my questions and concerns. His staff was extremely helpful! They made me feel very welcome and comfortable to ask any questions. I had additional questions that I had forgotten to ask Dr. Schram during my appt I was able to ask his staff and they had all of the answers. Talk about reassuring… It’s so nice to know you will have people in the office that can help you out with almost everything you might need.
My first impression of Dr. Schram was that he was all about business. However that changed very quickly as I joked with him about his \"holding his hands steady so I could see if they'd shake\". However, he was straight to the point when it came to teaching the class the facts of both procedures. I could not for the life of me get him to TELL me which surgery was best for me; he insisted that we research that on our own (which I liked). I also liked that he referred to the procedures as a \"tool\" we'd use in our quest for weight loss and that this was not a cure all! I questioned a co-worker that had Dr. Schram as his surgeon and it pleased me GREATLY and put me at ease to hear that he prayed before surgery with his patients. I rank bedside manner very highly and I think I've made the right choice for me in choosing him. Of course I want the surgeon to be surgically competent but right after that follows bedside manners.
My first impression was that he new his business! He was detailed in the group meeting, I did feel like part of a mass sell though. Not very personal.rnrnThe front desk staff was nice. After waiting for a short time. (they have a system for this orientation process they keep you moving through).rnI was able to meet with Dr. Schram one on one he was knowledgable once again but more on a personal basis, I felt a bit rushed but he did answer all of my questions.rnI am in the medical business so surgical competence is the most important factor for me not idle chit chat.rnrnI was not impressed with the facility it was a little worn out but I am shopping for the best surgeon and I feel that Dr. Schram will deliver.
