Dr. Schram was wonderful and informative. He was so sensitive to my needs and nervousness about the surgery. He preformed my RNY in Holland, Michigan in 2003. I've adhered to all his instruction and followed the rules! I am able to maintain my healthy weight after 13 years!!!
I can not say enough about his professionalism and expertise!! Had it not been for him, I would not be the energetic teacher and mother I am today!!!

Dr. Schram was so informative and seemed to be sensitive to your feelings. He gave clear and swift answers to all questions, and welcomed you to ask what you would.
I felt more comfortable with him after he prayed with you before surgery. I REALLY appreciated that. It made me feel like GOD was directing his hands to do the surgery. He has a thorough post op program with BTC's 800 numbers to call with ANY questions or concerns you may have. He let me and my best friend (who had the surgery with me) know that he sees the risk of R and Y being a fatality of 1 in 1000, vs. the LAP risk of fatality of 1 in 200.
I rate Dr. Schram an 11 on a scale of 1-10.
Bed side manner and surgical competence were equally excellent.
Dr Schramm performed my VSG on 7/30/13 and he saved my life in more ways than one. I had a "freak" thing happen and he flew on a helicopter on a Sunday from Chicago to make sure I was taken care of. Everyone in his office on Lake drive is wonderful and caring. They were there to support me when I had my difficulties and I never felt I was asking a stupid question. I honestly can't say enough positive things.
Dr. Schram and his staff are such good people to work with. I am 8 months post op, I went to my follow up appt today. They are all so encouraging and uplifting. Dr. Shram is willing to listen and is proud to see success in his patients. I would like to thank Dr. Schram and all of his staff for helping me to gain back my health. The surgery is a tool that makes me work extremely hard everyday to be as healthy as I can be. Thank you Dr. Schram!!
Dr. Schram has been very nice, and supportive during this journey. He has been encouraging me every step of the way. He put my hubby and parent's at ease before, during, and after the surgery. My family and my hubby have nothing but good things to say about my surgeon.
I originally was going to have the RNY but due to my anemia, Dr. Schram said it would be against his medical advice but he would still do the RNY surgery if I really wanted. I ended up opting for the sleeve. He has confidence in my that I won't need a 2nd stage procedure even when I am not so sure myself. I would recommend him to anyone who attends Spectrum Health Medical Group in Grand Rapids, MI.

Dr schram is a very awsome surgeon I had my surgery on 1/21/2013 he prayed with me before surgery and I feel awsome after surgery no problems I'm recovering quick and I believe it is because of him and his awsome talent some people are made to do such greatness and he is one of them I highly recommend him as your surgeon:)
My journey began in 2011, when I decided that "I was sick and tired of being sick and tired", of being too heavy for my short frame. From my first meeting with Dr. Schram, until the day of my procedure July 19th. 2011, it has been an amazing life changing journey. Dr. Schram, was kind, understanding, compassionate, and very informative. But what totally captured my heart is that he prayed for me. I knew Dr. Schram was gifted in his field, but to be spritially connected is the ultimate gift.

Dr. Schram gave me a great first impression and carried it throughout. Bedside manner and competence is exceptional. I started out at 400 pounds and I have lost a total of 236 pounds and I truely believe he saved my Life. Thank you Jon. Kevin Prouty
I started my journey on July 25th 2011 my name is Michele and that was the best day of my life. Dr. Jon Schram was my doctor and initally I was at the bariatic center in Ypsilanti Michigan, but have since followed Dr. Schram to Holland. I was simply impressed with this surgeon he was wonderful, all of his staff at both places have exceptional. I remember how gentle Dr. Schram spoke and how encouraging he was prior to and everytime after. I have referred him to all of my co-workers at home hospital that I work at and all of my family and friends as well. I couldnt be happier and I will forever be grateful to Dr. Schram for giving me this new lease on life. I love it!!! Take care everyone and good luck.
