I met with Dr. Schram on 10/30. He was great, listend to everything I had to say. I feel great with the choice of surgeons I made.

I had Dr.Schram as my surgeon from Grand Haven and he is awesome. My first impression of him was what a warm and caring person with excellent doctor patient relationships. My impression of him never changed over time, I just have to say that he is incredible!! Dr.Schrams office staff are also warm and caring and they are so helpful whenever you call with questions or problems that you may have. As far as future patients I would recommend him to anyone that is considering the surgery, you will not be disappointed in him what so ever, and if you are it would be a huge surprise to me as I am sure to many others also. Dr.Schram and his staff are there to help you if you need them and you should never hesitate to call to talk with them, the aftercare program is very easy to follow and if you do what you are asked to do your recovery will go much much smoother. I went for my 2 week check up and I didn't even feel like I had major surgery 2 weeks prior. Dr.Schram and his staff will take all of the time you need when you are in the office so don't feel like you are wasteing their time because you are not. I would rate Dr.Schram from a scale of 1 to 100 at 110 or better. As far as the risks for the surgery he made my sister and I feel very comfortable that the fatality rate was very very low, and that was never a worry of mine to begin with. One other thing, Dr.Schram is a fine christian man and he prayed with myself and my sister before we went into surgery and that was such a warm and awesome experience and he even holds your hand while he is praying for you. One last thing I can say is if you are considering the WLS surgery and you are ready to make the change in your life, go fo it, it is so worth it. ~Kathy~

There isn't nothing bad about this doctor as he is one truly GREAT doctor. He not only cares about his patients but he makes them feel like they are special and just not an number.

When I first met Dr. Schram, I saw this kinky skinny doctor and was wondering why he was doing this surgery. After talking to him more, I could really sense he cared about people and was concern about them and wasn't in it for the money.

Dr. Schram office staff is one of an kind, each is very helpful and willing to go out of their ways to help you and answer any questions you might have.

There is nothing I do not like about him. He is truly an gift from god and he has the magic hands to help regain someone's life.

The only thing people should know about Dr. Schram is that he truly cares about them as an person and he see them each different and very important. Dr. Schram is an family man and very much believes in God. I was very impress with him before going into surgery that he asked my family if they mind if he did an little prayer for me, I was so touch by that and so was my family.

Dr. Schram is very much into aftercare and long term care. He is there from day one and to the end. He will not let you down as your doctor.

He has both an dietian on staff which you meet with on an regular basic but also has supports groups that people can attend and hear from other of his patient who went through the surgery.

Aftercare to him is very important, and you kind of sign an contract stating you know what you are getting yourself into and he would be there to answer any and all questions, either it being six months post op or 20+ years.

Dr. Schram said all the side affect and all the risks involved and was willing to answer all my questions.

Overall, Dr. Schram is an 10+++++ with great bedside manner's and his surgical competence is very superior!

Very nice and patient-he had time for every question -even the hard to ask ones too!Very clear on most everthing-very helpful reassuring my husband I will be fine.He made me feel like a real person-not just someone who is out of coltrol. He will tell you the truth, sometimes you dont want to hear it but you need to her the term "obese"-then you know its time to get serious and do some thing about your self.He seems to be caring and compassionate. He knows that youre a still a person even though you may not feel like it sometimes. I would give him a 10!

Dr. Schram was very nice, and very helpful.. he answered all of my questions, and explained everything very well. I think the best thing I've read about him so far is that he prayed with a patient and their family before he did their surgery. Knowing that God is guiding my surgeons hands is very comforting to me!! His office staff were friendly and made me feel welcome. He made it very clear how important aftercare is. You are monitored for life if you have surgery at BTC.. blood tests yearly etc. He came to talk to me right before surgery, and prayed with me.. it really helped me relax, and helped my family also.. God handpicked this surgeon for me! :o)

At first I was skeptical.. it's not easy for me to trust a doctor I don't know about. I was extremely impresses to find out that he is a beliver. When he prayed with me before surgery - that was the biggest comfort I could have received at that time. His continuing concern and caring bedside manner has been an asset to him. The staff at the office (and at the hospital) appear dedicated and nurturing. The doctor and his staff are on the same page - the scruitiny for preparation and aftercare is expressed clearly and firmly. I've not had any complications and have had a great experience so far. He's a 10 in my book! I applaud him for his surgical competence and bedside manner.

I have only met with my surgeon, Dr. Schram, one time, and I was very impressed with his willingness to spend the time to make sure I was informed. I know many doctors, especially specialists, who seem to barely be able to take the time to learn your name. However, my visit with Dr. Schram felt more like I was having a relaxed conversation with a friend.
I never felt pressured about having the surgery -- he made me feel like this was MY decision, not his. He explained the surgery in detail, yet simply enough for me to follow. He explained many of the risks I had already heard of, and he strongly emphasized the importance of the aftercare program. He even gave a long list of support groups in the area, and even gave me the name of this site for information and support.
Overall, I believe that I have made the right choice in surgeons and trust him 110% to help me start on my weight loss journey.

I've only talked to him once but he was so kind and explained everything to me. I was very impressed.
also my roommate just had the surgery with him and she was so happy with him. She just couldn't say enough about him. I like the fact that they have such a wonderful aftercare program. He keeps track of you the rest of your life. They don't just operate and leave you flapping in the breeze.

I really liked Dr. Baty/Csorba. He was friendly, professional and talked to me like a human being with words I could understand. Unfortunately, he isn't able to do my surgery. My new surgeon is Dr. Jon Schram. He is at BTC in Holland. I will be having my procedure at the hospital in Grand Haven. I met Dr. Schram on Friday, July 12, 2002. He is a very nice, caring and yet professional man. I was totally comfortable with him and was able to ask some questions that came up after my first consultation in Ypsilanti. The staff in his office were the best. They were all so helpful and friendly. I know I will be in good hands with Dr. Schram.
