John Wright, Jr. Bariatric Surgeon M.D., F.A.C.S.

5/11/01 I have not spoken with Dr Wright yet. I called the office after reading about him here on this site. Lisa was very nice and helpful both times I have talked with her. My situation is a little different from most in that I already had my insurance approval before I contacted them. I faxed my info to them yesterday and I'm waiting for them to let me know what the next step will be.

MY SURGEON IS DR. JEFFREY ALLEN- LOUISVILLE
KY. HAVE HAD 2 CONSULTATIONS WITH HIM. HE IS
VERY NICE AND SEEMS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE. HE
TOOK TIME TO ANSWER ALL MY QUESTIONS.IT TOOK
5 WEEKS TO GET MY INSURANCE APPROVAL.MY FIRST SURGERY DATE WAS SET FOR 6/5/01. I
ASKED THE NURSE TO PLEASE CHECK WITH DR. ALLEN TO SEE IF HE COULD GET TO ME ANY SOONER. HE AGREED TO DO MY SURGERY 5/14/01,
WHICH WASN'T EVEN A DAY HE NORMALLY DOES SURGERY. THIS WAS GREATLY APPRECIATED.
THE ONLY NEGATIVE COMMENT WOULD BE THAT I
SENT HIM AN EMAIL WITH A COUPLE OF QUESTIONS
2 DAYS AGO AND HE HASN'T RESPONDED.COULD HAVE BEEN A MIX- UP. MY QUESTIONS WERE
ANSWERED BR AN EMAIL ARTICLE FROM A WONDERFUL LADY NAMED MARY.I HAD ALSO POSTED MY QUESTIONS ON Q AND A SECTION. THIS IS A
GREAT INFORMATIONAL WEB SITE.

3-20-01 Dr. Wright is known to be a very professional and outstanding doctor. That is the reason I have chosen him to do my surgery. I have only spoken with Lisa thus far, however, I am confident that everything will go just fine. My consult with him is April 6, I will be having pre-ops done and hopefully surgery will still be April 30. I give more info later.

4-6-01 I met Dr. Wright today. Just as I had heard, he is very professional and straight forward. He shot right down the middle with all the facts. He did not sugar coat anything. But, that is the way I would want him to be because this is a serious decision and my husband and I need to be sure we are making the right decision. My husband really appreciated his straight, to the point, attitude. I will be having surgery as scheduled, April 30. Now I have to decide if I want Lap or Open RNY....he has agreed to do lap, even though, he prefers open. Wow, I can't believe I have gotten this far.

He was very pleasent.

None I thought he was great.

Dr. Wright is very straight-forward. The more I see him, the more open and friendly is his. He is very conservative which I respect about him when it comes to this type of surgery. He is also a liver transplant specialist which gave me great comfort knowing that the stomach is located behind the liver and would require some cutting around. I couldn't have picked a more wonderful and qualified surgeon. He has saved my life.

Dr. Wright is a very good doctor. He is very busy also. He lets you know upfront that there are no guarentees about this surgery and that you must work at making a complete lifestyle change. Overall, it has been a great experience.

Straight to the point, sometimes painfully so. Office staff was very efficient. Lisa worked very hard to schedule my surgery before the end of the year because my insurance benefits were changing as of Jan 1. I was grateful that Dr. Wright was open to my desire of having my surgery done laproscopically instead of making the larger incision. I only stayed in the hospital three days total. No nasal tube and no gastric feeding tube needed. After care so far has been acceptable. Dr. Wright emphasizes patient attendance in the Friday morning support group. I have been to two support group meetings and I learn something valuable every time. I would recommend him.

My first contact with Dr. Wright was over the phone. He was very personable, patient and unrushed. He wanted to be sure that I was a candidate for the surgery and that I wasn't mentally deranged :-} I guess!! He said I sounded like I knew what I was talking about. My first face to face, I actually met with Dr. Wright's intern. He was very nice and covered all of the necessary bases and answered all of my questions. Dr. Wright came in afterwards and asked if I had any additional questions.

I will see him again on 11/29/00 for my Pre-op appointment...I may get a better feel for the type of doctor that he is.

DR. Kelley Wright is by far the best Doctor I have ever met. He made me feel very sure that he was the Doctor for me. I asked him many questions on his training background experience ect. His staff especially Lisa is wonderful. She works very hard with the insurance company to get our approvals.
What I liked most about DR. Wright and his staff is the level of commitment to my success.

I have only spoken with Dr. Wright on the phone. He was very polite and helpful. i am scheduled for my first appt. on Jan. 5. His assistant Lisa is the one you deal with the most. She is very knowledgeable and helpful.
