I thought Dr Wallace was a very sincere person. He looks you in the eye and tells it like it is. I liked that he didn't try to "sell" me on the procedure and first he made a point of having me think of the worst case senario - my demise. Uggg! I cried. He spoke of how he lost someone a couple weeks ago and seemed very concerned about it and that I think in those terms. Suprising as being a trauma surgeon for 20 years, I'm sure he's used to death.

Dr. Wallace appears to be very committed to his work. He took his time during our appointment and we talked for over an hour. He made every effort to answer all questions and if he didn't know the answer, he said so. He was focused on me during the appointment and was very clear and concise in explaining the procedures.
His office staff was friendly and helpful.
There was a resident with us as this is a teaching hospital.
During the orientation they handed out a black binder that has quite a bit of information reagrding the procedures, teh risks, the diet. Thius information is very beneficial in helping set one's expectations. I would recomment the Froedtert to anyone in the Milwaukee area.
The only downside to Froedtert is that I made the appointment in March and the first available appointment was 7/16.

I am doing summersaults (o.k, only in my mind) just because I have an appointment to see Dr. Wallace. This is the first step to the transformation over to the other side. I have everything ready for Dr. Wallace, all I need from him is a date. I will let you know more after Feb 5, 2001.
Laura his receptionist was so nice on the phone, she spent 20 minutes just answering questions for me. She is very informative.
My initial consoltation with Dr. Wallace was GREAT!! I had pages of questions for him and he never hesitated at any of them. I was told that there was a support group that meets the last monday of the month at the hospital. He will see me 2 weeks and then again 1 month after my surgery but i can have aftercare with my PCP. I feel that he is more than competent to perform this surgery. He is a trama doctor and anyone that deals with trauma all of the time, I will trust with my surgery. I lok forward to seeing Dr. Wallace and Dr. Nakeeb on my surgery date of Sept 27, 2001.

I really liked Dr. Wallace from the moment I met him. He seems very soft-spoken. I came with a list of questions and answered all of them. Informed me of the risks. I went with Dr. Wallace because he does this surgery lap. I was interested in having it done lap. from the moment that I started researching this. I would recommend him.

So far my actual Doctor is Dr. Shulte. I was just informed yesterday. March 5th that I had a choice to have my surgery done laproscopic. I chose to do so. Dr. Shulte then informed me that he does not do this type of surgery, and I would have to see one of his associates. Which I believe to be Dr. Wallace.----------Dr. Shulte was great however. I was very nervous, partially due to some of the info I read about him on this web site, Some people stated that he was a little cold. But I found him to be funny. We got along great. I am sorry that he will not be doing my sugery, But I am confident things will work out fine. I will update on Dr. Wallace after I meet with him.

dr. wallace is probably in his late 40's, very tall and very serious. he's precise, to the point, very infomative, and has a great dry sense of humor. he likes to be on the same level as you, sits close to you, so he can look you straiht in the eye. he wants to know everything you know, and imparts every bit of information he knows. he takes the time to answer any questions you have, and makes you feel good. not a good word, but acurate. he put me at ease, let me know i was ok. i would recomend him to everyone. i felt very secure with and in him. he is helping to take over dr. schaulte's practice, and has organized a good program. i feel confident, and fortunate that i have found him. my surgery isn't scheduled yet, hopefully by april. am anxious for my new life that dr. wallace is helping me begin.
i haven't had a lot of contact with his staff yet. they seemed ok. the technichians at froedart hospital are really nice. they helped to make the pre-op tests go very smooth and didn't make me feel uncomfortable about my size or the surgery

Seeing Dr. Wallace at Froedtert (Milwaukee) on the 8th of Jan 2001. **UPDATE** Dr. Wallace is a very warm, sincere and personable doctor and I felt very comfortable with him. He told me all the things I needed to know and a few more than that!! He answered all my questions and was great!! Can't wait to have this surgery done!!
