I doubt anyone was as scared as I was the day of my surgery. I was shaking so bad all my bones were hurtng. My teeth where chattering so hard even my jaw was sore. Dr Viglianco came in to the preop room and saw how scared I was, he stayed next to me holding my hand and talking to me until the anestesia took effect and I was out of it. He has the sweetest and most caring bedside manner I have ever experienced in the medical field. The only bad experience I had with the Barix center is that it is very hard if almost impossible to reach the medical staff there when you need them. Even when you leave messages for them to get back to you it can take days and sometimes they don't even call back at all.
Dr Viglianco is very personable and caring. He always gives me a hug when he sees me during an office visit.
Overall I had a good experience. Dr Vig is very friendly and knowledgible. Everything was very positive before and after surgery.
I was actually able to speak with someone @ my church before I met him. I didn't even realize that she had her WLS not only at the same place, but with the same surgeon. It really helped put my mind at ease. She had nothing but glowing comments about him. When my husband and I met with him the following day, we both remembered him from the seminar we attended last year. He is very knowledgable and explained all the risks. I feel very comfortable with him and with the Barix clinic in general. I also met a woman a week later that also had Dr. Viglianco as her surgeon and her surgery was more recent, just 3 weeks prior. She had nothing but great things to say about him. I have prayed so much about this procedure, and I really feel God has placed me with the right surgeon!!
Dr. Vig is a very personable and understanding person. I feel very comfortable speaking with him about the struggle with weight loss, and the possibillity of a brighter future after having the gastric bypass.

Dr. James P. Viglianco is a very personable man. He made me feel right at ease at my first consult. Extremely patient with any and all questions that I asked. Informative and overall was a great first visit.

The office staff at the Barix Clinic was very friendly and made me comfortable. Smiles everywhere :)

Don't even try to pronounce his name ... lol ... just call him Dr. Vig or Dr. V

There is an extensive aftercare program available for me once I have my surgery. He made all resources known to me.

Yes ... the Barix Clinic is dedicated to WLS only.

I went in with a list of questions ranging from the mortality rates to complications associated with the WLS and all questions were answered to my satisfaction.

Hey if I am going to let this man do a life changing operation I best give him a 10 out of 10 rating ... I am very pleased with my first impressions

Which is better, surgical competence, bedside manner, or are both great?
Well for me ... I would pick surgical competence over bedside manner anyday but lucky for me Dr. Vig has both
I have been so impressed so far not only with Dr. Viglianco, but his staff as well. Everyone has been incredibly helpful and supportive. Calls are returned promptly. The doctor took plenty of time to answer all of my questions candidly, and he immediately made me feel at ease. The facility looks great as well. I am so excited about having the surgery.
aaahhh my surgeon, :-).. he is the greatest!! i just love him! he is very informative and allows you time for Q&A. even drew diagrams on the board on our first meeting with him. he leaves no stone unturned. he completes lots of pretesting and evals.
then from then on you just grow to love him more and more. Dr. Vig really truly cares for his patients. i can feel this in the warm embrace you get from him at each visit.(yes he hugs you!!) he feels like a friend besides just a doc.
he is one of a kind! i would reccommend him to anyone
