Dr. Vig was great! He was very caring and always took the time to answer any questiions that I had. My impression of him did not change over time. He has tons of experience and I felt safe in his care. The risks were addressed completely during the preop meeting. Overall I would rate him a 10+ in bedside manner and surgical competence!
Dr Viglianco is the greatest, he has the bedside manner of a saint. He is very caring and will spend as much time with you to answer all of your questions. I really didin't have alot of questions for him because I had researched the surgery in great detail before I met him. But when I ran into problems after surgery he was there to explain everything to my husband. I love the aftercare program that they have at the Barix Clinic.. they go to great lengths to let you know just what you can and cannot have. And make it very easy on you. My first impression was that he seemed kind of nervous but also friendly. The office staff was great. Everyone had a sincere smile on their faces. They were not fake and were sensitive to my feelings and needs. It was the first time I ever felt comfortable in a medical facility. The chairs were comfortable and sized for me to fit in. The first place I went to, Mount Carmel West, had chairs with arms that my own Aunt had a problem sitting in and she is not Obese. I felt it was very inconsiderate to perform Surgery for Obese patients but not have chairs in the waiting room sized accordingly. I also had to endure the ditzy office girls giggles and stares.rnI have not had my surgery yet but the time I had at Barix and with Dr. Vig have been great!!
Dr. Vig is a warm and caring individual and came with the absolute highest referrals. I feel by going to the Barix Clinic in Columbus, even though it was almost a 2 hour drive, I gave myself the very best chance of a successful surgery and recovery process. Dr. Vig., his staff and the entire staff at the Barix Clinic are phenomenal.rnrnMy friend referred me and after three years she's lost well over 200 lbs and successfully kept it off. Her mother had the surgery somewhere else here locally and did not have the awesome experience. This was at a well known area hospital with a reputable doc. The information they gave her was so much less and the treatment while in the hospital so much less personal. The aftercare was even less than at Barix.rnrnI would highly recommend Dr. Vig and the Barix Clinic in Ohio to anyone considering this surgery. rn
He was very informative. He seemed like a genuine person. His staff was very friendly and understanding. Can't wait for what's to come.
'My first impession of Dr. Vig was one of relief. He was very calm and not at all hyper. I went to a seminar to meet him because he was not the original doctor from my consult. He shook my hand when I introduced myself to him. I have some concern because he has not performed many lap band procedures but he is a very competent laproscopic surgeon and indicates the lap band is nowhere as intricate as the RNY and will only take an hour or so to perform. He has a nice manner and I heard his bedside manner is very good. I'll write more after the surgery on April 20th.rnrnI had my surgery on the 20th and I'm going for my first fill next week. Dr. Vic was phenomenal!!! He may not have done as many bands as RNYs
My first impression of Dr.David Barbara was a very warm one. He greeted me and my mother and then we got down to bussiness. He was very straight forward about the risks involved in having this surgery and the chances of those risk including death occuring. My Bp was high and he said that would have to come down before I could have surgery. Aftercare was majorly stressed. Barix has a very structured aftercare program. We talked for about a good 45 minutes and after talking to him, I felt very comfortable with him being my surgeon. *****I am 1 year post-op and have put Dr.Vig as my surgeon as that who is doing my follow-up care now.
