My first impression of Dr. B. was that he was very quiet and reserved. However, as I got to know him I realized he was totally competent and confident. His staff always, always took my calls right away, which I find unbelievable. He and his staff emphasized the pros and cons everytime I met with them. Dr. B. and his staff are considered the \"gold standard\" here in Tyler. rnrnHe is not much with conversation, but since I work in a medical facility, I didn't put too much emphasis on that. The hospital care was professional and courteous. He listened and believed what I told him about how I felt and always resolved my problems. rnrnrnrn
My first impression of Dr. Babineau was \"Wow, he's young!\" He's in his late thirties, like me. He's very quiet and somewhat shy, so you have to really have your questions ready, as he's not one of those doctors who just ramble on and on. He is VERY competent; I would venture to say he is one of the best bariatric surgeons, if not the best, in Texas. rnHis office staff is nice. Freda is amazing...she gets those approvals done when you don't even think it's possible. She answers as many questions as you can throw at her. She attends and leads every support group meeting. She's a HUGE asset to Dr. B's office. He does not want to lose her, trust me. :) rnAftercare is good....there is a monthly support group meeting at ETMC, and it is well attended, with Freda at the helm. I have learned so much there. I do think that waiting until we are over a month out to have our first follow up visit might be a little too long, so I can say that I would like to have been seen at two weeks out, just to calm my nerves and make sure nothing was going on with me. rnOverall, I am so glad that I chose him, as I had a great experience before, during, and after my surgery!
I found Dr. Babineau to be friendly and straight forward. I had done my research and his stats were very good. I feel like he was Godsent to me. I have a very bad heart condition and thought no one would even talk to me but he said he would do the surgery and I can through with flying colors. He is amazing!!!!!!!!!!! His office staff is top notch and Freda is just great. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is quick to respond when called.
I would highly recommend Dr. B for RNY or Lap Band surgery.
My 1st impression was that he is VERY YOUNG...however, he has performed enough surgeries to be rated one of the top bariatric specialist surgeons and received the ASBS Excellence Award. He did a group presentation in his lobby and was quite impressive and informative. The office staff specializes in bariatric patient care. If I had to say one thing I liked least about him it would be his bedside manner....it was very brief and dry. Almost neutral. But, I'll trade that any day for his stats! Future patients should know that he is very good at what he does. Aftercare would be something that I would like to see increase. They are experts, but I, as the patient, am not...there are so many changes and new things that I would like an appointment sooner than 6 weeks...however, I do have to admit that I can call at any time and immediately receive a response or an appointment. I just hate to bother them unless it's really, really, really important...so I try to call friends for info 1st. The risks of surgery was addressed in every way...even a test! (*Ungraded, though!) Overall, I am very happy with my surgeon. There is no doubt that I would rate Surgical Competence as more important than Bedside Manner!
I walked into Dr. Babineaus office expecting to be turned away even tho they said to come in for the seminar...Boy I was wrong...I walked in signed in and sat down..There were alot of people in there waiting ot see him..When time came to have the seminar he locked the front door and had it right there in his waiting room..Talked about everything and what to expect and what could happen..I left his office that day with no questions..Dr. Babineau is a very nice informative doctor..He listens to you and tells you with out beating around the bush if he can do it or not..After the seminar we met one on one with Dr. Babineau..When my turn came I was excited! This is the first time in about 5yrs a doctor would even let me in his office..Dr. Babineau talked to me about my history of kidney/liver problems and other things..He said he sees no reason why he cant do the surgery!! I was soooo excited!!! Those are the words Ive been waiting to hear for about 5yrs..YAY!! I wanted to hug him! lol But I didnt ..Didnt want to freak him out..LOL Dr. Babineau talked to us about exercise and how important it was and he also has an after care program..I went to the front desk and before I left the office I had my surgery date!! OMG!!! Its like its finally here!!..Well almost but I got my date! November 30,2005...So before I left the office I knew my date and the date of when I was supposed to come back after surgery..Which is in January 2006..Im so excited....I just have to say that Dr. Babineau is the best doctor in Texas...He listens...He understands....And he is very nice...I have no complaints on him whatsoever!
My first impression of Dr. Babineau was that he seemed very quiet and strange with his brown cow boy boots. As I came to know him I realized that he was a very gentle hearted man who cares alot about the people he cares for.
The staff at Dr. Babineau's office is one of the most helpful and kind-hearted group of people I've ever met, expecially in a Dr.'s office.
Dr. Babineau and Freda (Nurse) are really good at making you understand without a doubt how important it is to follow any and all directions and to come to all follow-up appts.
God Bless Dr. Babineau and all of the people who worked so hard to make me feel so comfortable and to also make me safe and healthy.
