Hugh Babineau Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS, FASMBS

My first impression of him was that he was very young. But I think that he knows what he is doing and I feel comfortable with him. His office staff is THE BEST! I dont think you can find any nicer people. He has a good aftercare program. He requires you to come back for several post op visits and reccomends that you see either him or another doctor knowledgeable about WLS at least once a year for the rest of your life. He took time to explain the risks and benefits of the surgery. He was very patient with answering everyones questions as well. I would rate him a 10! At 18 months post op, Im still impressed with Dr Babineau and his office staff. Ive not had any problems since my surgery at all. I owe Dr Babineau my life and thank God for him everyday!

I was very impressed with Dr. Babineau at the first seminar, as was my father. He was very confident in his abilities without being cocky about it. He was very soft spoken, but clearly knew what he was doing.

Dr. Babineau was very nice and he explained everything to all of us in the seminar...I walked away knowing everything and had no questions whatsoever..Then when I met with him face to face he is very nice and wanted to make sure I understood everything and if I had any questions...I have had problems in the past with medical concerns and situations and with other doctors but not with Dr. Babineau he said I was deffiantly a candidate for this surgery and that he would do it for me...He was shocked at first at all the doctors who had turned me down..
Dr. Babineaus staff is very sweet and answered any questions I had...They were quick in getting my insurance to ok me..With in 2 weeks I met Dr. Babineau for the first time,had my pshych eval. done and oked from the insurance...His staff was on the ball and very fast...I was originally told my surgery would be by Christmas but they have me going in on Nov. 30..Im so excited! Dr. Babineau explained all the complications and made sure that Iam ok with this..He does have after care that I have to follow which in my book is a plus...I have had doctors that told me if I was not bleeding dont call them..Not Dr. Babineau he cares about his patients....I cant recall how often I have to come back and see him but its the fact that he wants to see me and see how things are turning out and how IM feeling that I love! In all Im very happy with Dr. Babineau and his staff 100%.. :)

I never go into anything lightly and had asked several friends about their surgeons before choosing Dr. Babineau. He was very knowledgable and informative. He went above and beyond making sure that both my husband and I knew what to expect and were comfortable with our decision. I was worried about his being so young but he knew what he was doing and has a great track record. He came across as being a little arrogant at first, but I suppose when you are one of the best that probably happens. He is very concerned about the after care instructions and I was smart enough to follow them to the letter. I have had no problems whatsoever and feel better than I have in YEARS!!! His staff was helpful and friendly and made you feel as though you were part of their family. I couldn't have asked for a better experience.

If you are considering Dr. Babineau for your surgeon you are on the right track. I spent three years researching my surgeon and I couldn't be any happier with the choice I made.

Dr. Babineau seems to be a great guy and very knowledgeable about WLS. He seems to be a very quiet type of person. Every visit I have ever had with him has lasted at a max 2 minutes. That makes me a little nervous because a surgery like this is really big and you want to be 100% certain with who you pick. I think about that and I wonder what would we talk about if we did have a longer meeting, I have followed everything given to me, I have read all the books, I don't really have any questions and I have no complications so I guess that makes it easier to have a short meeting. His office staff is amazing and has been wonderful through this whole experience. They work with you on scheduling appointments; they are cheerful and extremely nice to talk to. They are all a real compliment to Dr. B. I would rate Dr. B and his staff with a 10, there isn't anything more at this stage they could do to make it better. I look forward to seeing how things go with them in the next couple of weeks when I schedule a surgery date, go through post-op and the surgery.

My first impression of Dr. B was "boy, he is young" but the man is GOOD! On scale of 1 to 10, he is a 10 plus. And his office staff is so helpful and friendly. Even the hospital staff on the floor and in surgery were all just great.

My first impression was he was he was really young. Not young in a bad way :) He took the time to speak to us in a group and then alone before letting us know if he would agree to the surgery. The office staff was great. He is a doctor that seems to be very in tune with how he does this surgery, he will not scarifie your care during surgery nor after. He is very up front about all aspects of this surgery as well from the good to the bad. We were able to ask any questions and he did answer each an every one. I am sure his bed side manner will be great as well.

Surgery was done and Dr. Babineau was all I knew he would be, caring listened and there for me and my family. (and I mean the whole family) LoL He is not just a great doctor to me but a wonderful person who does not look at you as just another sugery but a person who wants to live a healthy life and he is happy to help you do that.

Dr. Babineau is very to the point. He is an excellent surgeon and his office staff are great, they stayed right on top of things and answered any questions I had. I consider myself extremely fortunate to have Dr. B. as my surgeon, my patience paid off! I wouldn't say that Dr. B. is much of a conversationalist but I'll take a reserved doctor with excellent surgical competence any day.

Very knowledgable. Appears to care about the emotional as well as physical health of patients.
Office staff is very competent and willing to help and answer questions.
