Hugh Babineau Bariatric Surgeon MD, FACS, FASMBS

I worked in the Medical Staff office in Tyler, Tx. Where i came to know Dr. Babineau. And i totally trust my life in his hands... He is very caring about his patients and basically all people. And a terrific surgeon. Words cant say how fantastic Dr. Babineau really is.

From my consult with him, I found him kind and knowledgeable. He seems to really care about his patients and is honest about the risks and benefits. He explained the procedure in such a way that it answered most of my questions. I like the fact that he treats every patient with respect and is doing this work so MO will be treated as the disease it actually is. I thought his office staff was great. I did not get to meet Freda, but have spoken to her. So far, I dislike nothing about him.

My first impression of Dr. Babineau was scrubs & cowboy boots! How cute! He is a young man, and I keep looking at his fingers. They are long, slender, and fine what a surgeon needs. I met Shelly and Amy. They are very nice and helpful. Freda was out. I will get to meet her on the next visit.

First impression was of a somewhat shy, quiet introspective person. I have come to believe that Dr. Babineau really cares about his patients and their progress. The office staff is very friendly and knowledgable and has been kind and understanding. I think Dr. Babineau loves his work and takes pride in doing a very good job. He wants his patients to succeed, and this is evident in his approach. I have been told about all the risks of surgery several times by Dr. Babineau and Frieda at his office. In addition, I was told at the hospital by the Anesthesiologist and some of the pre-op nurses. Both his surgical competence and bedside manner are great.

I had my first consult and meeting with Dr. Babineau on the 8th of Aug. I am so impressed with everything about him! Of course the first thing that won me over was the cowboy boots and scrubs!!! He seems very knowledgable and really seems to genuinely care about his patients. He has a small practice and it feels like they are welcoming you into their family. Freda and Amy are awesome and willing to help and answer questions. I would definately recommend him to anyone, and especially those who are tired of waiting for the chaos in Dallas to end. The 2 hour drive was well worth it! I am very confident that i have made the right choice with Dr. Babineau. Now that it has been 2 months since my surgery, I know for a fact that I made the right choice with Dr.B. He is an incredible dr and anyone who is thinking about this surgery would be lucky to have him as their surgeon.

Dr. Babineau was very kind and patient. He was very open about the procedure. He explained everything in a very easy to understand way.

His staff has been very helpful. They never seemed to be put-off with my many phone calls

Dr. Babineau stresses the need to change your eating habits and also establish an exercise program to loose all of your weight and keep it off.

I usually feel very intimidated by doctors, but I feel very comfortable speaking with Dr. Babineau. He is not too technical and he does not over simplify his answers. I have attended seminars and received information from other surgeons, but his information packet has been the best so far. He details not just the potential complications, but the percentage of patients that actually experience each individual complication. He also gives percentages for improvement of various conditions after surgery. It is very easy to read and to the point. All three ladies working in his office are sweet and very helpful. I feel very comfortable with my decision to use Dr. Babineau.

Very knowledgable but at the same time seemed to be timid. But this man isnt timid by no means just appears that way! The office staff is very nice and go out of their way to help and comfort you in all phases of this type of surgery. Future patients who may use this doctor should know up front that he is very caring and concerned with your thoughts, feelings, etc. He is the only doctor that I know of that will actually call you back after being paged. This really impressed me about Dr Babineau.

All of the Q & A is up front and afterwards he will meet you in person so you can ask some personal things. Very big on before and after care of his patients. He offers a support group meetings to attend before and after surgery for needed support. I would rate Dr Babineau overall as a topnotch bariatric surgeon. This doctors knowledge of gastric by-pass is wonderful and he hides nothing from you and is very blunt. But at the same time he does have a great bedside manner which is very appreciated after the surgery. He will check on you everyday and ask you the typical things he is needing to hear from a patient. He is a fantastic doctor in my book!

I was impressed with Dr.Babineau the first time I met him. He is very thorough in his explanation of the risks. He tells you how he does the procedure. His first consultation is in a group setting and then he takes each individual back to his office for a personal consultation. I really enjoyed the group setting because it allowed me to hear answers to questions I probably would not ask. Freda (his nurse)is wonderful. I like her honesty and down home personality. I would highly recommend Dr. Babineau based on my pre-op experiences.

I felt the whole staff at Dr. Babineau's office were very friendly and helpful. I got all my questions answered. They let you know everything up front. I was very impressed.
