Dr Juarez gave a really informative and professional seminar, which you are required to attend. I appreciated his very professional demeanor (much different from the 1st surgeon i went to see, Dr Simpson...) Dr Juarez is a man of little words, but if you have questions - you need to ASK him! He will take the time to answer. His RN who takes care of post-op bansters (Andrea) is very helpful. My only complaint is with Maria, the surgery scheduler. I called many many times and she never returns phone calls. I almost didn't show up for my surgery because she wouldn't return my calls and give me a vital piece of info. She acted very unprofessionally, and left me with a very bad pre-op impression.rnrnAndrea now has organized post-op support groups for JUST bandsters, instead of us joining in with the bypass patients. You can tell she has spent a great amount of time learning all about the after-effects of the band.rnrnDr Juarez was great, and Banner Good Sam was TOP NOTCH!

My first impression on Dr Juarez was \"hmmm, I'm not sure\" because we didn't have a very long first visit or consult. His staff, however, was the best. Very friendly and helpful and from all of the input I've heard from others I'm sure I'll love him!rnrnI'll write more after surgery.rnrn~*~*~*~*~*~*~~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~rnrnOk it's after surgery... I met with him again right before surgery and he was very nice. The 2 week visit went well too. I think he's just a man of few words. Not overly talkative but tells you what you need to know. He's real nice and very knowledgable about what he's doing.

I liked Dr. Juares when I first met him but I can't really tell you to much about him I have only seen him three times. Once for my intial visit, the day of surgery right before I was put under and again for my six week check up. But he did an excellent job on my surgery. I would get it done by him again if I had too.rn His staff was wonderful and very helpful. rn For my 6 month check up I saw Dr. Juarez and he made me feel like such a failure he said he was not happy with my weight loss. I had lost 70 lbs. I have not been back to see him. I now have lost 123lb.

Dr. Juarez is no non-sense. He's very caring and made me feel at ease at the hospital. No complications and I was in and out of surgery and record time. I couldn't of had a better surgeon!

Dr. Juarez is very busy and to the point. I thought the ABC classes were great! Very informative and helpful -great way to get on track. The office staff has been great thus far. I haven't had my surgery yet (I'm scheduled for Sep.6th),so I'm not sure about the aftercare. They did already set me up with my post-op appt. which surprised me. I believe surgical competence is definitely more important than bedside manner but, a little doesn't hurt .I wanna know that my surgeon can be called in case of emergency, etc. I don't need someone to hold my hand.

I had my consult with Dr. Juarez in April 2006. I was very pleasantly surprised at how friendly and considerate he was. He is very straight-forward and doesn't pull any punches. I like the fact that he is honest with you. I feel very confident with Dr. Juarez as my surgeon

'My first impression was that he was right down to business. He had a very serious face at first

At my consultation yesterday, Dr. Juarez seemed very concerned about my history and reasons for wanting the surgery (my health has really started to become an issue). Since we only spent about twenty minutes together, I can't give more than just a first impression, but will address other questions as I become more familiar with him and his staff.

Update 2/8/06 I now have a surgery date, since my surgery was approved. I really think I would still be wading through the appeal process if not for the assistance of Coleen from Dr. Juarez's office. I owe her a huge thank you!

The first time I met Dr. Juarez was at a seminar. He presented it quietly -- and I wish he had been more enthusiastic. But I have since had the surgery and a pre-op appointment and think he is really nice -- a good sense of humor and very knowledgeable.
He has a great aftercare program with lots of nutrition seminars. I would rate him a 10!
