Glenn Ihde Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

My first impression of Dr. Ihde was how professional he is and how he made you feel comfortable. I really didnt know how Gastric Bypass worked and he explained it in detail from start to finish.

Dr. Ihde has the best office staff. They are all so friendly and nice. I think that future patients should know the following about Dr. Ihde. If you are thinking about surgery and arent really sure about it, go in and talk to him and his staff. He will answer any questions you have and help you make the best decision for you on your surgery.

I also like the fact that Dr. Ihde tells you the good and bad about the surgery. He doesnt "cloud" anythong over. He tells it like it is and tells you what could happen- things you really need to know!

My doctor was very knowledgeable and took a lot of time with me with without feeling rushed to thoroughly make sure that I understood the surgery and the lifestyle changes that were involved afterwards.

All risks were stongly addressed.

Dr. Ihde provided excellent take home materials to study and share with all involved in my post-op care.

His staff was wonderful and very efficient and professional.

While in the hospital I had wonderful contact with my doctor and staff. Everything was as he had explained it to be. No surprises.

I feel that Dr.Ihde exceeds above the norm for surgical experience and bedside manner.
I would definitely recommend to anyone interested in WLS to visit Dr.Ihde.

Dr. Ihde was really something else. He was very detailed about all of the pros and cons. My previous experience with another local surgeon's meeting was really a shallow truth about this procedure. Dr. Ihde gives me a new confidence.

After going to the support group on tuesday. I was so impressed that Dr. Idhe and his nurse(kim) made a presence. I don't think that they ever stop and realize that they make a difference in peoples lives. I really believe that. Sometimes I wonder what pressures come along with a job where peoples lives depend on you.

Dr. Idhe was referred to me by a family down the street. The gentleman had used him for surgery last year when Dr. Idhe was at the Bariatric Sugery Center. I was very surprised that when I called to make an appointment I was able to get in the very next week. The staff at his office is very sweet and caring. Dr. Idhe met with me and took his time to explain everything to me. He also gave me a handout that explaned the surgery, what all to expect, etc. This helped me to understand everything. He sent off a letter to my insurance company and it was approved on the first try. They were amazed because I have Blue Cross/Blue Shield and they normally don't pay for this type of surgery. I went back in to Dr. Idhe's and he spent an hour going over aftercare. He explained what all I needed to do and what all I should eat after surgery in order for me to have a sucessful recovery. He is very thorough and caring. To me it seemed likes he cares for the people that he sees, not just treat them like another "appointment".

Dr. Ihde is a very thorough doctor who takes much time with each patient. He has general surgery talks with you, nutrition talks, makes you go to cardio & apnea tests, and also makes you go to the support group. I felt very ready for my surgery and I know it's because he prepared me well. I have seen him once since the surgery 11 weeks ago. I go back next week for bloodwork. The only thing I didn't like was that he can get so busy that waiting for him can be long. Luckily the hospital is right next door to his office.
I would rate him a 10!

The first time I spoke with Dr. Ihde I was so impressed. I had called his office only to hear an answering machine with a message that his nurse was out and my call would be returned when she was back. The machine said a date that was a few days away. I was so disppointed to be able to make an apt. Thirty minutes later I recieve a phone call, and it's Dr. Ihde himself! I was so impressed that he took the time to return calls. We talked a bit and he said he'd have his nurse call me. One of the things that is neat is that it's just him, and his nurse Kim. She is the office person as well as the nurse, so you know exactly who you're talking to, and it's not a different person every time you call. My consult went very well. He was through and covered all the pros and cons. What to expect, what to not expect. He then gave me a copy of everything he had gone over verbally, and a take home test to bring to my next visit to ensure you go back over the material. He put great emphasis on aftercare and following the guidelines. I really feel that he's a great doctor.

Dr Ihde is wonderful! I can ramble on for days about him. He is kind, professional, and truly cares about his patients. He goes out of his way to make people feel comfortable.

He follows up with his patients too. He even performed my emergency appendectomy, as he did not want another doctor in my abdomen only 3 months out from my RNY.

The only person Dr Ihde would take second place to is his nurse Kim. Kim is AWESOME! She too has been there since day one of my journey. She has always made time to not only help me deal with insurance matters, but she always takes the time to ask how I am doing emotionally. You have no idea how important that is.

I could not recommend anyone more!

Can't tell you much all he did was to tell me that I needed a sleep apnea test and cardic test. Had them done never heard from my insurance but heard back from baratric center to tell me I was turned down.I don't even know if they every turned it to the insurance company.

My whole experience with Dr. Ihde and his office was wonderful! He is very thorough and give a packet that is like a bible while you are recovering. I'd recommend him to ANYONE!
