Glenn Ihde Bariatric Surgeon M.D.

I am very pleased with Dr. Ihde. He has a good beside manner, answered all of my questions, made me feel like my concerns were valid, expressed that he cared about my aftercare, and made me feel welcome in his practice. His nurse in the office is great, and he treated me with kindness and dignity.

This cannot be said about other WL surgeons I have seen. Dr. Ihde is very well educated in the mechanisms, as well as an educator to let his patients know what to expect. His book, that he gives to every patient, is very well written, and it explains all types of WLS in layman's terms.

I have not been on this site in several years. Only
because I visited a plastic surgeon yesterday regarding
something unrelated to weightloss. I shared my

a Roux En Y Gastric Bypass in March of 2004.
The plastic surgeon asked to see my scars. I showed
her she said "wow" nice job. She asked if I had
any complications over the years and my answer
was no. I weigh 137 I am 5'9". I swam like crazy
after surgery just moving my fat 289 lb body and the
only issue is I could use a butt lift to be perfect.
I told her how Dr Ihde educates, trains and coaches
you. I attended his support groups before and after
surgery. I don't eat sugar, fried foods I can do a lil
bit but they are not anything that gives me the
satisfaction of the life I have wearing size 4-6 clothing.
If you listen and follow his pathway this surgery and doctor
will give you your life back or a life you never had.
My husband became so jealous that we divorced. He supported
the surgery but have to admit it took me from a 34 fat girl to
a 20 something hottie. I would have never cheated on
him. He just could stand men looking at me and then
never seemed to trust me. Dr Ihde's staff warned me
that many patients end up divorcing their spouse.

I LOV E him and Kim. They took me through a very scary surgery (liver resection and colon resection). I went in to talk about weight loss surgery but discovered something more sinister! Because he is so thorough we caught everything in time. He was wonderful to me and so was Kim. I will never forget how amazing I felt after surgery and how quickly I recovered because he is such an amazing surgeon! I have to get a hernia fixed and I cant wait to see my wonderful Doctor again!

I did not have great luck with Dr. Ihde. I was impressed with his book and feel that he is a very smart man and he knows his specialty. However, after nemerous visits I only saw him once in his office. While having a stomach scope done he never spoke to me and I felt that was just bad bedside manners. He dropped my coverage plan, took it back and dropped it again, leaving me 2 months from surgery and no options. I wrote several emails and never got a reply. My view was that if he was making money off of me I mattered, if he wasn't he(and his staff) ignored my questions.
Just felt the need to post the opposing side as well.

My first impression of Dr. Idhe was he was very friendly and professional. He answered my questions in laymen terms not medical terms which made me feel at ease with him. As time went by I realized he was the best Dr. I've ever been to. His no nonsense approach is great. He makes sure you are fully informed on all aspects of your surgery and able to make a knowledgeable decision. He has great patient care manners,and bedside manners, and I can't imagine a more qualified surgeon. His office staff is very friendly and helpful. He has a 3-6 month pre-surgery program to get you ready for life afterwards. With classes on diet and exercise. Also a great follow up program for after surgery. Overall I would highly recommend him to anyone considering surgery. His rating on a scale of 1-10 is most definately a 20! AWESOME DOCTOR!!!!!

Dr.Ihde is my doc, ive only had one visit with him but i can already tell what kind of doc he is going to be. rn He spend alot of time with me and my hubby answering all of our questions. Educating me and all three surgeries that are out there for me. rn My husband went in with alot of doubts. After spending time with Dr.Ihde and his wonderful staff, he is now on board with my life change.rnrnI have alot of respect and faith in Dr. Ihde. I know he'll do a awesome job.

My fist impression of Dr Ihde was that he was very down to earth and that he had a conversation with me. He didn't talk at me and then hurry from the room. He didn't try to change my mind about what i wanted to do. He openly presented all options, their benefits and drawbacks and then let me make my decision and supported that.rnrnDr Ihde's office staff is very knowledgeable and helpful but they feel a little impersonal...except for Kim. She's great!rnrnPart of what impressed me with this doctor is the amount of pre-surgery work he does to make sure that you are prepared for the lifestyle change that goes along with it and the testing he does to make sure you're physically ok to have the surgery. You can tell he's really trying to make sure your journey is successful.rnrnThe only thing I've not been comfortable with is the amount of visits required with additional people. My situation is a little different in that I've done 6 months of nutritional counseling through True Results along with the actual counselor and the phsych evaluations prior to coming to his office. I feel like it's redundant and a waste of my time, mine and my employers money to make me do these visits all over again just so that they're with his people. I don't really see this as a negative about Dr Ihde because if I had begun with him this would have all been fine.

I am very happy with my WLS Doctor...not only that he is very cute, but he really cares about his patients. He takes his time to not only instruct his patients on what to do and how to do it, but he also gives you plenty of time to answer any questions that you would have...I never feel rushed. Also his office staff is as caring as he is...and always happy & smiling. I would without a doubt recommend him to anyone looking to get weight loss surgery.

my first impression of Dr Ihde was wow this man knows his stuff and he listens and really cares. His staff were very friendly and didnt look at me as if all i was is a block of fat lol. he explained everything to me step by step and i would rate him and his staff a ten plus

I felt that Dr. Idhe cared alot about me making a decision that would make me happy for the rest of my life. I he was informitive and gave me all of my options to help me make the best decision. I have never any problem after my surgery and he and his staff are great.
